Vogue, this footage is priceless! I had seen a still with the snake around Derek’s neck and the D-Man looking terrified. But this is the first video I’ve seen.
My fear of spiders and snakes is way beyond any reasonable level. I am one of those who think the only good spider or snake is a dead one! My mother was of the same mind. So I’m sure I learned it from her.
I can totally identify with Derek’s angst! I now have one more reason to admire him. He is so brave to do this in spite of his personal hesitation! Bindi has no way of realizing what she is putting him through. She has wrangled (her cute word) wild scary creatures all her life. But now that Derek has done this, he has some serious bragging rights! He is so totally funny and cute in this clip! It will be interesting to see if it make it’s way into a package on the show!
Bindi’s Z finger snapping is hilarious! It shows her feisty side! And knocks her cuteness factor up a few notches!!! Derek loved it!

This is hilarious! Derek was like “he’s so good… he’s so nice” just mirroring what Bindi was saying and he wouldn’t even look at the snake! LMAO… hope this footage makes it into their first package. =)
Priceless video clip thanks for the repost. I couldn’t get it to play previously. I really think Bindi might be kind of a natural like Kelli Pickler was… I hope anyway!!!! Would love for these two to kill the competition this season. Man these two are so happy and positive which by the way are great qualities to have.
Love this! He is trying so hard to be a good sport! As much as a daredevil as he is – he’s clearly not a daredevil when it comes to wild life. I love the incredibly quick glance he gives the snake. Too funny.

Hahaha!! I had seen a couple of photos from their first meeting, but I had not seen the video of it before, Vogue, so THANK YOU for posting it!! OMG, that sweet, adorable, precious, handsome, and hot face of Derek’s is HILARIOUS!! When he repeated what Bindi said, “Sooo sweet,” I almost died!!! Hahaha!!!!
Kenya…and the very beginning when Bindi introduces the alligator to Derek and asks Derek if he want to come pat him, and Derek replies, “Do I what??” with great hesitation!! LOL!!
These two are so meant to be together, and they are going to bring us on a journey of a lifetime! 
I would have responded to your post sooner, Cathy, but our Internet, along with our cable and AC, went out about midday and I’m just now getting back online. It’s been quite the day! Anyway, yes, the part with the alligator is funny too! I’m really looking forward to Derek and Bindi’s season. The reason they seem so perfectly matched to me is because Derek, despite being a 30-year-old man with a 17-year-old girl, looks and acts incredibly youthful. At times, he doesn’t appear to be much older than Bindi like in this video. I remember thinking the same thing about he and Bethany, who was only a year older than Bindi. And of course, there is the energy level that Derek shares with these younger girls. By the way, the shorter his hair is the younger he looks to me, but when it’s longer as it was most of last season, he looks older. Anyway, here’s to a great season with Derek and Bindi!

Bindi is an absolute sweetheart! It was such a blessing meeting and talking with her last Wednesday at the GMA Cast Reveal in NYC. And Derek is so young at heart…fun-loving and adventurous, with such an awesome sense of humor…and together they’re going to tear up the dance floor! And you’re right…Derek’s energy level is limitless! I personally think he looks younger with his hair longer, but maybe that’s because I love it long and loose!! They’re both so connected with each other, and the journey they take us on is going to be a truly remarkable and most memorable one. I just love these two! 5 days and counting!
