Derek talked about Julianne and Brooks Laich with People at the 2015 Emmy Choreographers Reception last night. Guess what? Brooks has already tapped Derek to be a groomsman in his and Julianne’s wedding. #AwwwwMoment Read on….
“He’s the best,” Hough said of Laich. “We went surfing yesterday. We’ve been hanging out a lot. He’s a good guy.”
Hough revealed that Laich has already in the wedding and said the Canadian handled the entire proposal the old-fashioned way: He asked the talented siblings’ father for permission before popping the question!
“My dad and he had a conversation,” Hough said. “He’s a very traditional guy. I think I recall after they were seeing each other for a couple of months, he actually asked her, ‘So can I be your boyfriend?’ And she was like ‘Wait, I thought you already were.’ And he said ‘No, we have to do this officially.’ He’s a traditional guy.”
As for the official wedding ceremony? Hough expects it will be “something outdoors, in nature.”
“Sentimental. Something special to us. I have an idea where it’s going to be,” he said, refusing to drop anymore hints. “It’s going to be amazing.”

I’m so happy for Julianne and he sure acts like the “perfect” gentleman, and since Derek describes him with all good things about him, and the friendship Derek has with him, I know having her brother’s approval means the world to Julianne. God bless them!!! And, may Julianne & Brooks have a marriage that last forever and ever.

Awesome, for the wedding, traditions and having Derek as groomsman. This will probably be a private wedding but I hope there will be a wedding dance choreograph by Derek and that will be able to share to see

Brooks is awesome..I’ve loved him as a Caps player for so long..he was so sentimental about his teammates when the caps got eliminated in the Spring as he knew a few wouldn’t be returning to the team..he had me in tears
