Literally. Zimbio added this one.
From the Emmys – good job Katie Krause, you got a good, sweet answer out of Derek. Radar Online doesn’t allow embedding – but I think I just figured out how to do it- I recommend watching it in full screen. Yum. Let me know if this doesn’t work. OH, and keep watching after Derek’s first comment. He comes back at least once – they alternate him and Chelsie.
Dancing With The Stars favorites Derek Hough & Chelsie Hightower also strutted down the carpet. Both dancers were nominated for their choreography work on the hit ABC show. While Chelsie Hightower revealed she’d loved to be paired with Landon Donovan or Justin Timberlake in the upcoming season, Derek was slightly more open-minded in terms of his future partner.
“Whoever I get, that’s who I want. That’s who I’m going to be with for the next 15 weeks… that’s who I’m going to grow with and have this journey with,” said Hough.
They just keep coming. So cute.
And apparently, Cheryl WAS with Derek, for dinner with Chelsie and Mark (and Shirley and Allen) at least. I have a picture of them in the car that Umi sent but it has a big watermark on it. And also, oe_star sent me this picture of Derek and Cheryl with Piers Morgan from CUT Steakhouse.
Too much of a good thing is bad for you, I hear. Nah.
From Zimbio – they have more, I only picked two, so click the link.
ETA: I added a couple more because the first one is just TOO funny. I have no idea what he’s doing.
The man is mighty handsome. From India Times:
From Poplife (someone sent me this- don’t have a link):
ETA: Another from Life – see link above
Congratulations to Derek Hough, though, for his two, well-earned nominations. WE LOVE YOU!! While I’m happy for Mia, I can’t say I agree with Emmy’s decision – what is wrong with you guys? Derek Hough deserves an Emmy!! :-) Derek is more gracious than me, so I’ll be a little bit of a sore loser on his behalf. From the LA Times Gold Derby site:
Best Costumes for a Series: “The Tudors”
Best Music Direction: “Olympic Games”
Best Choreography: Mia Michaels, “So You Think You Can Dance”
Thank you Marc Malkin from E! – if I had a first born child, I would give him/her to you.
Geez, in my picture excitement, I forgot that Marc may have also confirmed Derek as a IN for Season 11!!
I love the sound of that, and I love the sound of some non-bulls*@t press, if you know what I’m saying and I think you do. I’m not going to mention the rest of it anymore because I’m sick of that game and I’m sick of hearing about it. So, I’m going to pretend it’s not happening. 95% of it is incorrect anyway.
So, on to the Emmy’s. Hope the general gist of this guys article is correct – that the odds of Derek winning are increased by a double nomination, and not the reverse. That he’ll split the vote. Well, it’s an honor to be nominated (twice!! or three times total!!) but the man should win a statue. More so now than ever. From The Wrap:
Emmy Nominees Compete With Themselves
When “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner walks the red carpet at the Emmys, he’ll know one thing for certain:
He’s going to lose.
Producer Peter Murrieta will know the same thing. So will choreographer Derek Hough, lighting designer Robert Dickinson, editor Michael Polito, visual effects supervisor Mark Savela, 20 cameramen from the Academy Awards, and about two dozen others.
They’ll all be certain to lose, because they’re all multiple nominees who are competing against themselves. Weiner might win an Emmy for the “Guy Walks into an Advertising Agency” episode of “Mad Men,” but if he does he’ll be losing for the “Shut the Door. Have a Seat” episode (right).
“I called my manager when the nominations came out, because he’s had clients in this situation before,” Murrieta told theWrap. “And he said, ‘Hey, it’s Vegas and you play the odds. This just gives you better odds.’”
