….they find something else to add to the increasingly silly mix. Geez. Remember the link I published the other day to the preview of Behind the Scenes of Parachute? Well, they found it. And the title of their “article” isn’t at all misleading. From Metro:

Cheryl Cole has been caught on film in her pyjamas in the back of a car with dancer Derek Hough.

But no need for Ashley to turn on the waterworks just yet – the pair were filming behind-the-scenes footage for her new music video.

The X Factor judge was hard at work shooting the video for new single Parachutes when everyone had to be evacuated from the set because of a fire alarm.

In exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, a dolled-up Cheryl is seen complaining about being turfed out dressed in her PJs and slippers.
She tells the cameras: “Be careful what you wish for. I wanted to be in my pyjamas and me slippers, just not at the last shot at a fire alarm.”
“Yes, we have been evacuated from the building.”

Hough, who is sitting with her in a car, then pops his head around and declares “it’s nearly midnight”.

But before tongues start wagging too violently, the pair are not alone in the clip and are surrounded by crew members.

But the best thing about this article is that we might see this behind the scenes thing earlier than expected.

‘On Set With Cheryl Cole’ will be broadcast tonight at 8.30pm and on Saturday from 5pm on MTV.

Which is about a half hour from now. Good thing – turns out I have to work all day saturday after all – training. Yay.

 Thus endeth the sucking up to Bruce Hough. Seriously, I have no clue if Derek’s dad said this or not, because I am not automatically predisposed to believe every single thing I read. However, I like to think he did say it. What, you ask?  From the Daily Mirror:

The father of the hunky dancer who comforted Cheryl Cole on the eve of the split yesterday said he’s the complete opposite of Ashley.

Bruce Hough, whose son Derek spent 10 hours at the singer’s hotel, said: “My boy treats girls right.”

Mr Hough, 55, from Utah, slammed Ashley, saying: “It’s terrible how some stars carry on. Look at Tiger Woods. These guys do not know how to behave.

“Derek is a responsible guy. He’s enjoyed spending time with Cheryl. It’s clear they get on really great.”

To MTV. I wonder if we will see this on the behind the scenes thing coming up this weekend?? Hmm…

Asked about the shoot she said:

“I’ve actually got Derek Hough as the choreographer for this video – he is a massive ballroom dancer!

“I absolutely love Derek’s work so it’s a pleasure to be working with him,” she continued “he’s asweetheart and he makes the day more enjoyable.”

Hough appears in US show Dancing With The Stars as well as working on music videos.

You can decide for yourself what you think reality is – I’ll just say that I think if Derek had adopted a dog he would tweet pictures. And that’s all I’m going to say…for now. But mostly about Cheryl ending her marriage to Ashley (go, girl).  No idea about the accuracy of this particular publication, but is sure is detailed. Derek isn’t mentioned until the very end and they use a GREAT picture of him (keep in mind that we should see lots of Derek like this, since this is his punishment for being a bad, bad boy and teasing his fans ).  From the Daily Mail Online:

….and have a ring of truth to them. Or maybe this one just says a bunch of stuff I *think* are true – mainly about Derek the person.

Anyway, I debated for a while this morning about whether to post this one or not – not because it says anything bad. It doesn’t. But I debated because the amount of press on this subject has just been overwhelming and, frankly, I’m kinda tired of hearing about it. Can we get back to Derek’s career, please? Also, an old girlfriend (supposedly) has come out of the woodwork to give her two cents and (yes, I am extremely cynical) grab her 15 minutes of fame. I gotta love her though, because she says so many wonderful things about Derek.

Okay, with all that out of the way, from UnRealityTV:

An ex-girlfriend of Dancing With Stars professional Derek Hough has said that he definitely has the hots for Cheryl Cole.

Raquelle Gracie, who competed in X Factor’s 2007 series and dated Derek while they both attended London’s Italia Conti performing arts school told The People:

“Derek thinks Cheryl is an amazing woman. She is just his type, you can tell by the women he has been with before. He loves gorgeous women who are talented. And women like that love him because he’s a bit eccentric and a musician.

“He definitely fancies her. Whether they become a couple is simply up to Cheryl. Derek would be up for it.”

She added: “He’s very moralistic.

“He’s a very kind, caring guy and was a great shoulder for me to cry on when we dated at college.

“He will be a fantastic help for Cheryl. But he would never ever do anything unless she was single. He’s not the sort of guy that would cheat.”

Raquelle concluded: “Everyone loved him at Italia Conti, but he only dated a couple of other girls.

“He was just focused on his dance and looking after his body.

“He doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink, doesn’t do drugs and doesn’t cheat. He’s overall a really nice guy – and just what Cheryl needs as a friend right now.”

After I put all this in, I found what appears to be the original source, People.co.uk – there are a few things different:

Now, about this press – yeah, I know that Derek and Cheryl are just friends – one of these articles gets it just right, IMO – but I have to say, I don’t mind the mentions Derek is getting too terribly much. Handsome, hunky – those are some nice adjectives being applied to our hot dancer.  And accurate!! And if you’re having a rough time in your life, I can’t imagine a better guy to hang out with.

Cheryl Cole has had a fun day out in Hollywood with a hunky dancer – on a trip to the cinema, a restaurant and a nightclub.

The Geordie Girls Aloud singer, 26, went with Derek Hough, 24,  to see the romantic hit film Valentine’s Day on Thursday afternoon.

But a source close to Cheryl pointed out: “They are just friends and were simply on a break from the studio.”

Derek is a close pal to Cheryl because they have worked together repeatedly in the past. He most recently starred with her in her new video Parachute which he also choreographed.

Now, the pair have hooked up again on her working holiday in LA, where she is recording and writing music.

But while Derek has a reputation in Tinsel Town as a ladies’ man, our source also emphasised he is offering her nothing but support in an hour of need,

The dancer has dated a string of beauties in the past – with his most high-profile romance to date being actress Shannon Elizabeth.

Well. While I think they make a gorgeous couple, I kinda doubt that parts of this headline reflect reality. “American TV Star?” Yes. Romantic date? She’s still married, yo! The British press have always been tabloid-y, though. However, I love that they call him a hunk – because he is! From STV:

Derek appears in Dancing With The Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing.

 And he also features in the video for Cheryl’s new single Parachute.

The steamy scenes see the couple dancing seductively to racy choreography.

Hi Heidi,

Got caught up here at work and got a chance to tell you about last night. I was sooo upset that I chickened out and didn’t talk to Derek on Friday night that I let the angry, resentful thoughts swirl around my head all day Saturday. When will I ever get to see Derek again? Will I ever get another chance to tell him how he touched me? How could I let something so ridiculous intimidate me? I skydive and have traveled Europe alone. I deal with serious life or death issues like cancer (I’m a registered nurse) all the time; I’m no wussie. My pride started to kick in. I have a chance to redeem myself, DeVience is playing tonight again at The Viper Room and Derek will be there. Wait a second…I work a 12 hr shift tomorrow and I start at 7am. How can I drive up to LA and see their show at 10:45 and get enough sleep to work tomorrow? I don’t feel good as is and I definitely am still recovering from last night. Kelly is down to go again with me tonight because she is as upset as I am that we didn’t talk to Derek on Friday. But I have to leave early, does she want to stay late in LA? I debate and debate all day till evening. Finally I got a sign I was meant to be up there. I jokingly posted a tweet directed at the band DeVience saying “Hey, saw you guys last night and you’re fabulous. Shall I grab a girlfriend and drive back up there from the OC to see you tonight?” To my surprise, the band responded with a resounding “Yes, come back up here. The show will be sick tonight.” Decision done. I’m going to watch a cool band tonight and I absolutely, positively have to talk to Derek tonight or I won’t be able to look myself in the mirror ever again.

We arrive at the The Viper Room 5 minutes before the band is to go on. The next band to go on is not DeVience…Oh hell no, don’t tell me I drove all the way here to miss the band! Come to find out that the bands are really behind and that DeVience wont go on till midnight. Well, there goes any chance I have of getting any rest tonight. The Viper Room is another famous LA band venue and like the Whiskey A Go Go, many famous bands have come through there. It’s a 2 story enclosed venue full of dark black hallways and the band stage is upstairs in a dark room that can fit about 50 ppl. I saw Derek slip into the room looking fabulous in a black leather jacket, basic blue jeans, and dark tennis shoes. He walks fast and crosses the room so quickly that when I blink, he’s gone again. I kept thinking…”You have to do this, get this over with. Do it now before his band goes on and he doesn’t want to be bothered. Just do it.” I figure he is outside so I casually walk to the door, camera in hand. I chat up the door bouncer for a minute or so and devise a plan in my head. Right before I walk outside, I pull out my phone and pretend to talk to someone so it looks like I stepped outside to use my phone rather than stalk Derek Hough. Yeah…I’m smooth, I know. I walk outside and casually make random conversation with myself. I hang up my phone and realize 3 band members of DeVience are standing between Derek and I. Here’s a good time to meet the band so I walk up to them and start chatting them up. In this totally adorable British accent, Sawyer, the guitarist asks me “Are you Angie from the OC? Thanks for coming.” Ahhhhhh, melt my heart why don’t you? Ten minutes later, the other 2 band members walk over and introduce themselves to me and I find out that four of them have never been to the US. “Why don’t you come down the OC and visit me? I’ll take you out.” The other guitarist (who is amazing on the guitar by the way) said, “I would like that. We need to get your number after the show.” Sweet. In my head I’m thinking, “Do any of you need a green card cause I’ll marry you.” Anyways, during this conversation Derek has vanished back into the Viper Room. The guys start to set up and I walk back into the room. I check in with Kelly who is at the front of the dance floor saving our spots. I turn around and see Derek sitting alone at a booth checking text messages on his phone. It’s now or never, Angie. Just do it.

I walk straight over to him and get his attention. In a calm and confident voice I say “Derek, I’m such a big fan and it is such a pleasure to meet you. Your dancing amazes me and I was wondering if you would take some pictures with me. I need these for your fansite.” In warm tone of voice, he smiled and said “Thank you so much. Thanks for coming. Yeah, that website purederekhough.com is great. Anytime I need to know what’s going on in my life I go to that website and it’s sitting right there. I’d love to take a picture with you.” And with that he jumped out of the booth and was by side with his hand around my waist in a snap. I was so ecstatic my smile ran off my face it was so big…just check the pic. I told Kelly to take another picture of us and I just couldn’t help myself. I wrapped both of my arms tightly around his waist and laid my head on his chest for the next pic. I could die now and be perfectly happy I’ve lived a full life. I took a pic of Kelly with him. Kelly mentioned to Derek after taking the pics of us that he had a little piece of hair sticking out alfafa style from the top of his head. I didn’t hesitate a second and I said “Let me fix that.” as I gently brushed his hair back in place. His hair is sooo soft, blonde and beautiful. So in heaven right now. I also gave him a sincere thank you card I wrote him and he slipped it in his jacket and told me he would definitely read it later. We chatted another few minutes or so and then it was time for the band to come on.

If its possible, the band sounded even better than last night. I stood in the front and rocked out with Kelly on my right and Derek on my left. That haunting voice of Giovanni was so dreamy at times and I ended up snapping several pictures of the band during the set. DeVience finished their set and I proceeded to say goodbye to all of them but alas! All their equipment is behind my car blocking my way out. So I chatted with them and Derek a little longer. When it was time to leave, Derek had walked away about 20 feet away from me and I yelled out “Bye Derek! It was nice meeting you, don’t know when I will see you again but take care!” He turned around, jogged over to me, and gave me a big, warm hug. Wow he is such a nice guy. I got home about 2 am and got up this morning at 5:30 to work but my total fatigue right now is a small price to pay for getting my dignity back and having a dream come true. There were many other little things that went on such as me getting free drinks from the hot bartender and my conversing the bouncer about DWTS and Derek (this hot bouncer actually had watched the show and took swing lessons). But nothing else really mattered because this, by far, was the best Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had. Much thanks goes out to Derek and DeVience.
