Pure Derek Hough

In week 8, Derek and Brooke had to master the Mambo and the Tango.

The Tango:

So, why IS Len always so hard on Derek and his partners? Afraid of showing favoritism? What?

The Mambo:

I decided to put them all in one post (except for the season opening group pro dance which is here) so that searching for them would be easier. First up with Derek dancing with Julianne to Jennifer Hudson:

Week 6 – The Rumba. I thought it was beautiful and sensual. Derek could dance like that with me anytime.

Week 7 – the lovely Foxtrot. Amazing.

Week 7 – Team Paso Doble. Okay, this scared me at the time, but from the first note to the last pose it was absolutely amazing. I think I was screaming at the TV. Derek and Brooke’s solo spins were amazing – possibly the best thing done by a pair in a while on this show.

Week 3 – Brooke and Derek’s Viennese Waltz. It made me cry the first time I saw it and it still makes me a bit weepy. Beautiful.

Week 4 – the “too erotic” Samba. I gotta tell ya, Len, I liked Derek before this dance, but this dance made me fall off my chair and on to the floor. It wasn’t pretty.

Week 5 – the Jitterbug. Limited choices on videos. If you find a cleaner one that is embeddable, let me know!

In Week 2, Brooke and Derek danced the Paso Doble to “Palladio, First Movement”.

I had forgotten how amazing Brooke was with Derek, right out of the gate. The Cha Cha to “Are you my Woman (Tell me so)”:

This season, there were two dances in the first week, the Cha Cha Cha on Monday night and the Quickstep on tuesday. Beautiful. They’re dancing to “Lover Come Back to Me”.

Back in the good ole days, when they had pro dances with ALL the pros and no guest musical act.

Yo! For those of you who might not be sure, this was a spoof. Pretty darn funny. I don’t know which part I like best, Derek’s crying in confessional, the farting or the sparkly confetti. It’s all good.

Sadly, the week they were eliminated. First up was the Tango to “Tanguedia III”. Great dance!

The next dance is the Mambo to “Ain’t Nothing Wrong with that” – which leads to one of my favorite interviews with them and Mel B on Access Hollywood.

Derek and Shannon danced the rumba to “True Colors”. I thought they did a beautiful job. My opinion has nothing to do with Derek being shirtless.

Derek and Shannon Elizabeth dance the Samba in Week 5 of the 6th Season of Dancing with the Stars.

Derek was in a Samba pro dance on the results show that week. He danced with Edyta, Karina, Anna, Kym, Jonathan, Louis and Fabian to “Esa Morena” by Ozomatli.
