This is a site for fans of Derek Hough. We try our best to compile all news, pictures, music and videos about and by Derek – if you find something you think we’ve missed, feel free to contact us. If you are a new fan of Derek’s and want to learn more about him, the “Accomplishments” and “Biography” buttons to the left contain pages of what we know (or think we know). ;-)
Also to the left is a music section where you can find music by Ballas Hough, Derek’s band, and songs that Derek has danced to on Dancing with the Stars. Complete with iTunes links.
If you want to see old posts, there are two ways: 1) by the media buttons to the left, or; 2) by month under the “Derek Archives” buttons also on the left-hand side of this page.

Whoo Hoo! I’m getting excited about this season – looks like it could be fun! I’ve been working pretty hard on PureDWTS, where you can read more about the show as a whole.
If you want to follow Jennifer on twitter, she is @therealjgrey – show her some love. Plus, she’s hilarious.
There’s a picture of Derek and Jennifer together in the UK Tabloid crud (at least they’re good for something, eh?).
Here’s Jennifer from the other night
….Jennifer Grey. We think. And E! News thinks so too. Jennifer is only following her husband and Derek on Twitter and E! News says she’s got the D-man. Thanks to everyone who sent me this – I’ve been so busy with PureDWTS that I’ve been neglecting the boy just a bit. That’s okay, he’s been neglecting us for MONTHS.
Dancing With the Stars Sources Confirm Margaret Cho and Jennifer Grey—Guess Which One Gets Derek Hough?
I broke the news yesterday that teen mom Bristol Palin will be a Dancing With the Stars contestant, and now a source confirms to me that comedian Margaret Cho and actress Jennifer Grey are also among the celebrities who will be tangoing across the DWTS floor this year.
Plus, fan-favorite pro dancer Derek Hough is back and paired with one of the girls above. So, who is the lucky lady?
Nobody puts her in a corner!
Yes, after first learning to cha-cha from the late Patrick Swayze onscreen in Dirty Dancing, now she gets hooked up with dreamboat Derek Hough on DWTS. What a lucky lady.
Lucky lady indeed!!! The picture they used of Derek was from when he was sick on his 24th birthday. Remember? He still looked hot, IMO.

It’s that time of year again, kids, and since it was pretty popular last season I figured we might as well try it again. Once we find out Derek’s partner, and he gives us a clue to the team name (or we make one up for ourselves), we begin the design contest. I’ll dig out the rules from last time and, with a few modifications (if necessary), post them and put you all to work. Derek was photographed in one of the tee shirts last season, but as I warned at the time – there are no guarantees.

Sorry guys, I saw this, like, two days ago and never got around to posting it in all the other crap going on. From the Sioux City Journal:
‘Dancing with the Stars’ pays big dividends
LOS ANGELES — “Dancing with the Stars” contestant today, TV host tomorrow?
That’s the reality for many participants.
Derek Hough, one of the professionals and a two-time winner, says it’s common for contestants to play through the pain. “It’s just part of the life of an athlete,” he says. “Nobody’s ever 100 percent. You just learn to work through it.”
For those who don’t harbor dreams of winning, the show is just a lot of fun.
Pressure, though, can be intense. Last season Hough remembers the pre-season buzz about his partner, Nicole Scherzinger. “They were expecting something big from her — she should be good because she was one of the Pussycat Dolls. But knowing that I realized we had the opportunity to do more interesting routines.” Hough upped the difficulty level and the two won the mirror-ball trophies.
Models usually get a bad rap, he says. But contestants with some dancing in their backgrounds are often expected to deliver more than others. “When I learned I got Nicole, I was terrified.”
While professionals have won back-to-back titles, it’s not common to see them get front runners two seasons in a row. “You never know who you’re going to get,” Hough says. “But if I got Betty White, I know she’d win the whole thing.”
The Picture used was this one:

Congratulations to Derek Hough, though, for his two, well-earned nominations. WE LOVE YOU!! While I’m happy for Mia, I can’t say I agree with Emmy’s decision – what is wrong with you guys? Derek Hough deserves an Emmy!! :-) Derek is more gracious than me, so I’ll be a little bit of a sore loser on his behalf. From the LA Times Gold Derby site:
Best Costumes for a Series: “The Tudors”
Best Music Direction: “Olympic Games”
Best Choreography: Mia Michaels, “So You Think You Can Dance”
Thanks to Dona!

On the set of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Here’s an article from Channel 5 in Appleton, WI. Show them the love and maybe they’ll post more pics. The house is going to be gorgeous!!
The atmosphere on Elm Street in Neenah was a mixture of curiosity and enthusiasm today. The frame was complete, the roof was being nailed on, and it was obvious there was a whole lot going on inside the home. Nearly everyone was snapping photos of the crew at work, and shouts from the crowd of “You guys Rock!” and “Build that house!” cheered the crew on. The main attraction today, however, seemed to be Derek Hough, star of Dancing with the Stars, who took the time to greet some of his very happy fans.

Sorry, but ick. Bristol Palin. Could be okay – she’s young and probably popular by DWTS typical audience. But, I hope he does better. Click to see the rest of their dream cast —-> People.com I love who they selected for Corky. LOL
