Derek has soooo many talents…here’s hoping he always has a venue for all of them. Yes. right now he’s getting great exposure. THRILLED for him !!
Really agree with you Elmari…so happy that D seems to be able to work it out for now, at least. I think it’s great too, to keep him fresh and on his toes with new ideas. Working with different personalities, the pressure of delivering for a live show. I hope too, that he has further success but I have always imagined that working on a movie set is probably an issue for him, if his personality is anything like what it appears. So much down time,blocking, shooting out of sequence, set-up and everyhing seems in slo-motion. Then once you have done a couple of minutes of film, no audience reaction or appreciation, just set people, etc. so you have no idea how it will come across when it is all put together.
I think working on the show and audience contact, really inspires him and he seems to thrive on it. And we are all just very lucky because of it. Yay!
I’d rather see him be a huge movie star, though. But he can do it all if wants to- movies, TV, music (i.e. live concerts). But I just know that DWTS is not going to last forever or be on top off the ratings forever. As for now, it’s still one of the most popular shows on TV and Derek is smart to keep his options open, as well as, continue to benefit from the exposure that DWTS gives him.
A cutie-patootie as always! Looks like he is growing his facial hair again; not the most attractive look on him, imho. I thought he looked so stunning without it when he co-hosted with Kelly. But that’s just my opinion.

Derek is looking so good and happy … love the smiles at the paps cuz YOU KNOW that’s rare! Perhaps he is happy that his mom and oldest sister (and maybe baby Quaid) is in town. I’m really excited to know that Derek is most likely back for season 14. I know we all want him to move on to more movies and other projects, but after reading Courtney’s pro blog on PureDWTS … Derek is really luck to be a prominent cast member on one of the most watched and loved television shows on the air today. He gets so much exposure and the audience in return gets his genius creativity and choreography every week. Plus, he obviously loves being on the show. A nice compromise would be that he only does one season a year, therefore having almost 9 months to film movies or do other projects. Anyways, just some of my musings… =)

This is soooooo refreshing to see Derek back to his happy, smiley self after his Annus horribilis. He’s sporting a more pale sans spray tan look too, no mind, Derek looks fantastic in any shade!
