OHHHHH MYYYYYY GAWDDDDDDD, that dance was A=MAZ=ING!!! Beautiful, graceful the execution perfect and the choreography for the Ricki’s story was outstanding! They really deserved 10′s. Ricki is really turning out to be one good dancer. She has the steps and all the emotions that go for each dance. But then again, look at her partner! OMG Derek is just one hell of a talented man, genius!! I love that he surprises us with something new each season.
I wish he new how his “real” fans feel about his unending talent! I hope he comes to PDH and reads some comments once in a while.
My 87 yr old mother called me immediately after Ricki & Derek’s dance. She said that it was so beautiful that she had tears rolling down her face. He can bring tears to all ages. That’s a sign of a brilliant performer! Love ya Derek!!!!!
I wanted to add my 2 cents, well maybe more than that…lol
I loved this rumba. Derek’s choreographies are always phenomenom(sp?). You know, people keep talking about JR and Karina’s rumba. Honestly, I don’t remembered a thing about it cause it didn’t stand out. I, too got teary eye watching them but that’s just because of JR’s emotional story going into the dance. He had flaws if you look closely. People are getting their eyes clouded with their emotions. Just because their dance made them cried doesn’t mean they deserve 10s? PITIFUL.
A mark of a great dance or teacher is when the dance leaves a lasting image and that’s what Derek and Ricki’s rumba did. I don’t know but Derek got that touch that no other pros has.
Btw, I feel like hitting someone, maybe most of them, at that ABC board. UGH!
You are right about the ABC board!! Why so much hate??? I will never understand why people respond to stories about the famous with such ugly words. If they don’t care for the person why read every word written about them??? We all love Derek!! Keep those votes coming!!

I´m too happy for Derek and Ricki this season and I´m big Derek´s fan from the Czech Republic.
He is the best dancer and choreographer for me and I´m happy, he is back in DWTS.

I’ll repeat the same sentiment I tweeted earlier. Normally I can’t take my eyes off Derek, tonight I couldn’t take them off Ricki. That performance was simply breathtaking. The mark of a truly brilliant teacher!
Having watched this show every season, quite honestly, you always wonder how the pro will “adapt” per se, when the woman is not built like Kristin Cavallari. Derek has adjusted flawlessly, season after season, showcasing each partner at her most beautiful without missing a beat, so to speak.
Dance and choreography aside (which we can also agree are unparalleled), THIS is the mark of a truly, truly brilliant teacher. This boy’s possibilities are endless.
This rumba was so beautiful. I watched it over and over on YouTube, before it was added here. Heidi you are the best! You should work on Derek’s staff. Derek is blessed to have you as a fan!!! Ricki looked lovely tonight, she gets smaller every week. Derek was smoking HOT!!! Derek does amazing choreography work for all his dances. Ricki really got lucky when she got Mr. Hough, The Dancing KING!!
Beautiful, breathtaking rumba. Ricki performed it beautifully. Derek’s choreography amazing.I did not expect Ricki to be so good, she is a great performer as well, using her acting skills wisely. Derek the one and only, nobody can do routines like him, just flawless. Off to voting and then watching this fabulous rumba.
Sorry I don’t know how to edit these posts but I wanted to add…..when I see Derek like this, in this zone, I am just going to miss him so much when he leaves this show, miss seeing him dance every week live.
I can have some of the worst days and times for various reasons and seeing Derek and his beautiful dances and beautiful personality just can always bring me out of it and make me smile. I am just in full BOO-HOO mode right now.
This was so beautiful, they were a true team tonight. He created beautiful choreography for her story and she really danced to perfection, right along with him. Her foot placement, hip action and fluidity was right there with Derek and he was flawless. Ridiculous, I still have a lump in my throat. D is so amazing and it is so great that Ricki really recognises that.
I always worry about these story things but this just blew me away. Karina and JR also good, but the choreography and delivery wasn’t quite as good.
