I am worried, they are last on DialIdol & predict that the only one safe is Palin, how is this even possible?
As we surely expected, Derek and Jennifer rendered perfection in their dances in the penultimate competition of season eleven of DANCING WITH THE STARS.
To any objective viewer, they are light years above any of their presumed competitors, whom the judges have routinely marked with much inflated scores.
Kyle Massey is a most engaging young man, but he is no where near the precision in his dance moves that is Jennifer. And as to Bristol Palin’s performances, therein lies an ongoing travesty. Were this any other season, when activists were not flooding media outlets to garner political points, she would have been long gone, and justifiably so. The fact that she may well go on to the championship and even be granted the Mirrorball Trophy indicates just what a farce this presumed dance competition has become. Disregarding the judges’ feeble efforts to reward her with eights and nines, those marks would never even be considered were she other than the daughter of a former Governor who ran for the Vice-Presidency of the United States.
What happens now will reveal much about how many viewers are willing to close their eyes to the obvious truth. Derek is surely the most accomplished male choreographer/dancer of our time, and with an equally fit and motivated dance partner, his intricate and graceful numbers elevate the art of choreography to new heights. Whether with Brooke Burke, Joanna Krupa, Li’l Kim, Nicole Scherzinger, and now Jennifer Grey, his numbers become instantly memorable and celebrated. He was the only male professional dancer to be twice selected in the viewers’ choices of the top ten dance routines of the first ten seasons, and with very good reason.
This year’s Argentine Tango with Jennifer Grey was beyond exquisite, and it may surely be selected as the most memorable of season eleven, if not yesterday evening’s cha cha and waltz. At this point, it is impossible to imagine Derek and Jennifer not being conferred the Mirrorball for season eleven.
Alas, all manner of politics and prejudices are intruding with particular force this season.
Know this: whatever are the viewers’ selections this evening and for the final competition, if you are a lover of the dance, you have witnessed the best of the best of season eleven in Derek and Jennifer yesterday evening. If perfection itself is not enough to grant a truly great dancing couple their just honors, that will only be because the art of the dance no longer has anything to do with DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Did you notice Lacey’s lack of ANYTHING after Jennifer and Derek’s cha cha? Watch Lacey, starting at around 2:50, just as their dance ends, and the camera shows Kyle and Lacey outside of the Celebriquarium. I must say that Kyle is a joy, and I love his enthusiasm, but his partner has gotten on my last nerve. I’m hoping your cheesecake this week has some “good” Lacey stuff?
Wow!!! How brilliant that we saw the fun side of Jennifer this week. As always, Derek’s choreography was superb and suited to his celebrity. Have voted (again and again!!) here in England and am looking forward to the show being aired on Friday so I can admire the routines on a larger screen.
Woohoo!!What an AMAZING night for Jennifer & Derek with to AMAZING/FANTABULOUS and perfect performances. The Cha, Cha, Cha, was so sexy & and their Waltz had me in tears! They rocked just like Jen & Derek said they would. I voted so much hand to wiggle my fingers!!-LOL They are the best and deserve to make it to the finals and WIN the coveted MBT!!! Kudos to Derek for two amazingly choreographed routines!!
