I believe that if their package had been different, Derek and Jennifer would have gotten higher scores. The judges are so subjective in a negative way. It was great choreography. Scores should have been three 9′s!

While there was a tiny spat in week 3, I felt that last night was the first time that I’ve really watched them “get into it.” And — for as excited as I was to see them in a new light, I take it back completely. I didn’t like it. Derek came off like she had trapped him and he was so confused as to how she could mistake his frustration for anger. And he knew it, which is why he stumbled around with his words a little. In the same beat, Jennifer is notorious for being overly-sensitive. Not only has she made several comments like this about herself, but many others who’ve known her past, present, and future (one incident that stands out to me — Patrick’s wife.) Still, she needs to have some fun. It seems like they push so hard but it’s going to end up hurting them in the end. Just enjoy it. Hire a clown company, eat an onion, dress up in a monkey suit, dance a non-appropriate Rumba… JUST RELAX! I felt like a child watching my parent’s argue. :/ I love them too much to feel like that towards them.

I agree with Laine Marie & Denise. I found the negative tone of the package very disturbing & I felt bad for both of them, as I could appreciate both their points of view. I don’t think it was scripted either; I think they were genuinely annoyed with each other. After the package, it was difficult for me to let go of it and enjoy the fun theme of the dance. I suspect the lower scores were because of the negativity of the package. As far as the dance was concerned, I thought it was just fantastic and deserved 3 nine’s. Very clever, creative & fun choreography, beautifully danced by both of them. Best dance of the night IMHO. Jennifer & Derek, you are amazing, keep up the good work, and I hope you can let yourselves have have more fun and less stress on this show. I think you are a terrific team who could go all the way to MBT#3!

My last post then I’ll shut-up: Went over to Yahoo to check out news…guess what?…one of featured videos is spat between Jen and Derek…at least, at showed them hugging at the end. This thing is going to have a life of its own…mark my words.

    • No big deal, Karol. Not the first time that Derek’s had a fight with one of his partners and it probably won’t be the last. I seem to recall that he and Brooke had a similar blow up – and look at Nicole last season and all her crying and stuff.

  • Jane

The minute I saw the feather duster I said “oh no, Len is not going to like this!” I thought they danced beautifully together.

    • Len is full of shit. Jen had put the feather duster down before the music for the dance even started. Then Jennifer danced in front of Derek, where as Brandy sat on a chair in the audience for how many beats? And Bristol wore a monkey suit?? The double standards last night were disgusting. And hello – if you don’t want people telling stories with their dances, perhaps they should stop having “theme weeks”.

As you can tell, the whole thing pissed me off. :-)

      • Lisa G.

I so agree with you Heidi. I though Len was on crack last night with how he could like Bristol’s monkey suit and even the wasted time Brandy and Maks sat on a chair in the audience, but then goes off on Jennifer and Derek for the duster part in the beginning and saying it was too theatrical. It was ridiculous.

I must say, the package kinda ruined the dance for me. I know its a reality show and they gotta show the drama, but it seemed really personal. I thought they could have editted it but of course, I’m biased being a fan of this couple. Too move from that to a sweet 50′s dance – I was distracted. With it being slow, my mind wandered to the package.

I’m sure they are safe and its all good but it obviously upset Derek. Since when does he feel insecure and tweet apologies?

    • Karol

Exactly! He’s tweeting “I’m sorry” for hogging the camera…this is what they are complaining about on the ABC board which obviously Derek is reading. Come on, Derek…forget the masses..be you.

I really enjoyed their performance last night, but I could tell that Jen’s nerves were getting to her. It reminded me of what she said during the ET interview that she doesn’t want to let go of Derek’s hands and dance on her own. Derek really needs to help her with that because I know she could be great on her own, also. I have no idea about what Carrie Ann was talking about with Jen getting blank expressions or whatever. I watched the dance a few more times last night and Jen looked completely committed to the performance. However, I do think that it’s okay not to be on top every week… as long as they are in the top 3, they will be okay till the final. Marathon, not sprint. :)

OK; two tweets from Derek are DAMAGE CONTROL clearly…and as expected out of the woodwork on various forums, chat boxes are now coming “Jennifer is a diva or arrogant or spoiled or complains too much…thinks she’s got it made as the winner,” blah, blah. Most comments actually defend Derek with the few ususal,”He only cares about himself… too hard on his partners, etc.” We know Derek/Jen made up, but people really came down hard on Brandy for her little outbursts with Max…cost her votes. I have to agree with some folks that the foxtrot last night lacked the luster/excitement of the past dances, but, as much as Derek would like, no one’s perfect all the time. Perfectionist + tons of talent = Derek Hough. Personally, I was glad to see Derek vent…like he said, not good to bottle up frustration…plus I think we saw a bit of the real Derek rather than the goofy guy pandering to the camera to win the affections of the mobs…gotta be hard keeping a cheerful mask on all the time. Hope Hollywood doesn’t suck out of Derek his genuiness…be true to yourself.

For me, I never really worry what’s written on message boards about Derek and his partners because it’s probably such a small percentage of the 20 million people that watch this show every week. I think those that speak negatively are those that dislike Derek and his supposed ‘favortism’ on the show, which is transferred to his partners. However, I do like to defend if it gets to outrageous because some people will write the most outlandish comments. We just got to vote, vote, vote!!!

  • JENNIFER RELAX YOU ARE IN DEREK’S ARMS!!!!! TRUST HIM!!!!!! This can’t be easy for Derek to choreograph when he has to take into consideration her injuries and yet make the dance amazing. He does it though and Jennifer needs to take a deep breathe. Don’t get me wrong I really do like her so I hope this doesn’t come across as a critisizm.

Jennifer & Derek are charming on the dance floor and their charisma is unmatched. I loved this Foxtrot! Derek is brilliant when it comes to story telling, themes or era performances. He will be an amazing director/actor someday. They are just exquisite together! Definitely could have received higher scores and better comments from Carrie A. & Len is just crazy!! Love ya Team BabyD! No other couples performance perfectly matched their song and storyline like theirs.

It was a pretty good show night IMO!!

I enjoyed this foxtrot. it was fun, she had perfect lines, good break from fast dances. Carrie Ann gave Kyle 8 for his so called foxtrot – ridiculous. But I think it takes a little spotlight from them which is good. Room to get back to the top. Well done.
