It’s Official!! Derek Hough and Jennifer Grey!
Whoo Hoo! I’m getting excited about this season – looks like it could be fun! I’ve been working pretty hard on PureDWTS, where you can read more about the show as a whole.

Someone posted a link to the first rehearsal photos… Sorry, I don’t have a link to them, because I really don’t want to deal too much with the ABC DWTS board, it’s scary over there! But, there were photos of Jennifer and Derek…. Do they have a team name yet? Team Grough? Team Jerek? Jenek? Can we have a post for suggestions, Heidi?

As far as the competition…i believe they will make it pretty far because derek is a FANTASTIC teacher! She will do fine…remember Joanna didnt have a lot of followers and she made it to semi-finals

You are always so on top of everything to do with Derek. Just some Twitter look-sees, Jennifer Grey has 503 followers as Audrina has 1,049,802, and Brandy has 716,825, and Margaret Cho has 80,905. Yikes, we need fan to start following Jennifer. Derek as well known as he is, rarely tweets, and his 63,000+ fan base is not growing that fast.
Wish we could get them in the social media world working it.

Kim Kardashian had over 4 million. Keep that in mind. Just be sure to get the word out though because Jennifer just started her twitter account. There are a lot of fake ones under her name too.
Derek’s gonna be in a spot where some want to see a Dirty Dancing tribute and others do not because she is not the twenty something Baby anymore. I know he will do what is best for them.
I think they will have fun together and no stress about winning. I hate people thinking she is the favorite when she was an actress who learned to dance for one movie 23 years ago.
Oh, and why are they calling Derek “Del”??
Ashley Cole called Derek “Del” or “Del Boy” based on a not nice character from either a movie or Brit TV show. I believe the man character was a womanizer and all-round bad fellow. Anyway, it’s mean, and the tabloids picked up on it.
Thanks, Karol… Ashley Cole has some nerve calling Derek that when he was the one who cheated on his wife multiple times. Bastard.
That Ashley part is just another story by the tabloids, noone knows if it’s true or not. Tabs like to pit the two of them against one another cos it sells I guess. He was called “Del” by tabs even before the story about Ashley calling him that appeared in the papers.
I know that the tabs are often full of baloney; I’m only mentioning what they wrote. However, I believe I read Ashley called Derek “Del” in the USA Today. Everybody has to decide what to believe. The problem is that there could be a grain of truth somewhere in the articles. In the states, there are laws against printing blatant lies but not in England.
Can’t wait to watch them dance together!! I also think it’s hilarious how that British tabloid referred to Jennifer as a “mystery female workout partner”! Ha! They just don’t have a clue
Even more reason not to trust anything they say! Ha.
She looks “fantastic” and seems to be very determined to do well. Some of her tweets have been hilarious. It’s inspiring and impressive that she would take on a challenge like DWTS,especially, after all she’s endured in the past year or so. I’m glad she has Derek as her pro partner. He’s a challenging, yet caring teacher. I know he will bring out the best in her and she’ll have “The time of her life”-cheezy right!-LOL
With that type of determination, I think they have the opportunity to go far in this competition.

All Jen has to do is go with Derek…he’s so awesome that she just has to get into the dances and calm the nerves. Trust him Jennifer!!!! He won’t let you down…you two could really go far in this competition. Remember being 50 is not old…you look great, get into the actress mode & GO FOR IT!!!!
