Derek Hough – Just as Handsome in NYC!
Many thanks to @cstardust on Twitter for helping me out and sending the the link to some purdy pictures!! I’ve been SO busy getting ready for my Christmas travel (that starts today) that I’ve barely had time to check my usual haunts for Derek news/pictures, let alone do my Google searches, so I greatly appreciate the assistance. Speaking of Christmas travel – updates will be slow(er) due to the holidays due to limited internet access and limited time. I wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Heh. Did a google search, finally, and found the same pictures at Bauer Griffin and you can make them BIG. You guys know how I like Big. 
I had made a comment before that I didn’t know who is with whom but that it was “fun” reading their theories. The word “fun” should not have been used and that was a poor word choice on my part. I have found these comments on this site to be a lot different from what they usually are. I strongly believe in a persons right to privacy. I would hate it if someone were to take everything I said and did take it and analyze it to death and then draw conclusions from it. Do you remember the tweet from Derek about Tiger Woods and how he felt people needed to leave him alone and let them reslove it. Well, that should tell us something about how he feels about these issues. This has always been a more above board comment site and needs to return to that. We all need to remember that we are talking about real people. As awe struck as we may feel about Derek and his many talents we need to remember that these are peoples lives and they deserve to be treated with respect. Derek would I’m sure treat others that way and we owe this to him. I wish him much success in 2010. I for one really miss not hearing him sing and seeing his choreograph and dancing. All the best to Derek and his family.
OK Wasn’t going to comment on this but I really feel I have to! The conversation going on here is really wrong!! Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I don’t think that it’s appropriate in a comments section of a Derek FAN site! Derek does seem to be a private person when it comes to his personal life and if you are a true fan of his I really think you should totally respect that! This site isn’t really about his personal life and since we know he does read this site I think all the assumptions and guessing about his personal life is VERY rude to him and Joanna for that matter!! There are other private places for you all to discuss this if you wish.
I’m glad Derek is having a GREAT time in NY and it’s really none of our business why he’s there but it is obvious to those of us that follow Shannon Elizabeth, and have followed their relationship, that they are spending time together and they both have said they are very close friends. They share what they want us to know…please respect that!
It is the holidays where we should all show grace and caring, especially towards people we wish the best for. Obviously Derek went to NY for Christmas to spend some time with someone who is important to him. He seems to be having a great time relaxing and being a tourist in NY. He has a hectic schedule so I, for one, am glad he can just have fun. I am also hopeful that he will have a fun-filled, happy and exciting 2010. He is a hard worker…and so talented. There are so many avenues he can explore. From his Peter Luger picture, he looks like he is having fun!
Everyone’s comments above are very strange & show no caring for someone you all profess to like a lot. This is a public forum and I think that should be taken into consideration before making posts. Derek has said he reads the forums and perhaps his family does also. I think the only reason Derek is in NYC for the holidays is to be with Shannon. He can get a lot in LA but the one thing he can not find is love and the true companionship he has with her. The reason you have not seen photos of them together is because every time they mention one another on twitter they have to read rude comments. How people who profess to like them & follow them make the comments they do is beyond me. Both Shannon & Derek have told us they are together by their tweets. When they want us to see know more they will do so.
I totally agree!! This string of comments (by only small group of people), have gotten completely out of hand IMO.
It’s crass & unbelievable rude – especially when you consider how extremely private of a person Derek is.
Whatever his reason for being in NYC for the holidays, I sincerely hope he’s been enjoying himself and having fun spending time with someone he cares about
ITA with Sox & Rosebee and will take it one step further. These posters are being extremely disrespectful, not only to Derek & Shannon, but to Joanna as well. She is engaged!! Respect that!!
Respect Derek’s decision to spend Christmas with Shannon. He owes no one an explanation of his actions nor should anyone expect it. As was previously mentioned, care should be taken with the comments made on a public forum. I always ask myself the question, would I make this comment to that person’s face? If not, then you shouldn’t be posting it publicly. Just my opinion.
Sox, I apologize for all of us. Especially all my comments (huh?thinking what I did) But I also have to say that this forum is for public so people should be free to express their opinions. True some of the comments are a really weird. But Derek being a public figure regardless of him being a private person will naturally get different kinds of comments. Not all will like his relationships. But I think most of them were fueled by Derek being quiet about the reason for this trip which you, sox, had given an explanation of. Still- these comments are opinions of people which they should be free to express. From what I read, some people enjoyed reading the comments. I think they are all made for fun. But I agree it would not be funny for Derek and his family if they are to read them. Actually, I DO NOT agree in most of the comments ESPECIALLY the theories about Joanna. But one thing I do agree with though is if there are feelings from her side, she will definitely tucked it deeper than those fossils mentioned here. She would have to be VERY foolish not to. Sorry again. This apology is for everyone and to everyone who have been offended.
Oh I have to add. Joanna also said she didn’t want someone who play games and beat around the bush or something to that effect,like it’s a waste of time. she said she’s not in High School. Just remembered it.
Yeah I read somewhere too about how she broke up with someone saying she doesnt need someone who she has to worry about being jealous of someone else. And I also read she wants someone who will treat her as a princess, not money but I guess who love her. She also say as long as the person is funny. That I remember…. well maybe her fiance has a sense of humor and makes her confident. But the following interview describes derek EXCEPT — telling her how much he cares…MISTAKE BIG MISTAKE.. LOL
What do you find attractive in a man?
(Joanna): A good sense of humor that makes me laugh and a man that treats me like a princess. When I say princess I don’t mean materialistic way of being treated like a princess but making me feel like a lady and telling me how much he cares and makes me feel confident and happy.
Could you date a guy who was overweight and not as much into fitness as you are? Or a really nerdy guy?
(Joanna): It’s not always about the looks as long as there is a strong connection and the guy makes me happy. At the end it comes down to happiness and being with someone that you enjoy every moment with. A really nerdy guy- As long as there is a strong attraction because without that it would be hard for me to hide it since I am bad at pretending or lying about how I feel.
I agree with everything you said Lestrade.:). Except I still think Derek has feeling for Joanna. I agree that he made a BIG MISTAKE. Actually Lestrade, that is an understatement. You said it right, it can be irreversible. Even Caitlin agreed and she is a Taurus expert.lol joking
I agree Joanna is not a social climber, but she wants stability. Derek is confusing people right now and although it may not be a sign of instability it is mimicking it. I also agree that Derek given the chance (maybe few years from now) will reach his dream. Actually he is already a success. But I think he will go even farther, at which point he probably would be, “joanna, who?” LOL
But just as I read also, Joanna is ready for family. Ready to get settled. I just think derek seems confused as to what to do. But then Caitlin thinks he may have become crazy because of love. Thus he is acting irrationably. LOL
Yes. Romain can offer emotional stability because he is matured (and I dont mean derek isnt) it is the maturity that comes with age..lol Hey i dont know that cause im not yet old lol.. Anyway, yes derek has personality passion, talent and exactly what Romain doenst have which matches Joanna’s and that is why she misses him and good reason for her to fall for him.
But we are all in agreement here that if HE HAS FEELING FOR HER THEN HE SHOULD TELL HER. BTW I can tell you dont like Shannon huh? lol. I read Caitlin’s last blog and that is what I would do If I am Derek.

Geesh Derek, if you keep doing this. We dont know what Joanna might do LOL Need I remind you that although she is a Taurean she has a little arian in her (impulsiveness) because she was born closer to Aries. You might find her getting married sooner. Cheryl was right. As a matter of fact, I wrote in my last blog at that site what I would do if I’m in that situation. TELL HER. That is better than pushing the envelope and I dont think that’s what Maria meant about her being able to control her feelings”..unless it becomes unbearable.” This is just pushing too hard. Not becoming unbearable but impossibly hard to digest for any Taurean. If I am Joanna and I have feelings for him, I would cling even harder to my fiance. I might even move the wedding closer. Taurean also has a tendency of not wanting to see or avoiding the person that hurt them

My opinion is Derek has made his point. He should get his butt back to LA. Joanna is going to Miami for New Year. I already asked her to ask Derek. Haha. Don’t know if she did. She’s probably to pissed off to even talk to the guy. No, she will downplay that. But she will retaliate. That’s how Taurus does things. He just made her a liar after replying to a fan she will see him after her xmas vacation!
Darn, didn’t I say NEVER TO MAKE A TAUREAN jealous? LOL I quite positive derek read some of our blogs, but he got the wrong understanding of what I said about pulling the rug underneath. But.. I suppose the time he got the best reaction from Joanna was when that picture was posted. I sent him a link to the blogs so he probably read most or all of the things posted there. Possibly he took some of the advice there. This is what I think I am sure Derek feels something for Joanna, this is my gut feeling (STRONG GUT FEELING) Maybe more than Joanna feels for him. Joanna is very committed to her fiance. As a matter of fact I think it is more on the committment and security than love. I think she is in a sticky situation. Twice she twittered that she missed Derek and said she didnt know what she will do. After that she stopped twittering publicly. But she said to a fan that she does exchange texts with him. Derek I think want to keep things quiet. Lily, you’re right about him wanting to see Joanna immediately coming home from London of all people.
I don’t know who is with whom but it is fun reading your theories. I have felt for a little while now that Derek is not like he usually is. As to why I have no idea. I just have felt he looks a little down. He is in a business that has its perks but there is a cruel side to it too. I just hope all of his hopes and dreams come true for him in 2010. His fans will surely benefit. All the best life has to offer Derek.
