The Derek Drought…
…maybe it’s ending? I only say this because Derek tweeted he’s on his way to New York and I think we can at least count on Shannon to tweet pictures OF Derek, instead of pretty Xmas scenes. Not that we didn’t love your pictures and your tweets, Derek, but we like to see your face from time to time. 
And speaking of his face, he was not alone the entire time last night – seems he went shopping with Shirley. Again, from WENN - click the link to see all the pics, I’ve only put one here. He looks HOT, but slightly displeased.
Derek does spend time with his dad. Just this time last year, he was with his dad. Also he spent the summer with his family and dad. Derek also sadi his dad comes out to visit him a lot. Who knows. Derek has a big family but I would not read too much into him spending Christmas in NYC.
I always thought Derek and Jules had a good relationship with their dad and stepmom! They both follow him on twitter and a while ago Derek was at (I think) a breast cancer charity event and how he was supporting his stepmom (who I think currently has it or is a survivor). I didn’t sound like there was anything wrong.
Also where did Emily say on myspace that people are changing??? I just checked and her most recent blog was back in June. If that’s true that the guys are changing (which I understand; I’ve had ex-friends who’ve been that way), that’d be severely disappointing to me. Now not to offend any HUGE Mark fans here (I am a fan definitely, but not as much as I use to be), but I can understand if people think he has with all the Sabrina and Joanna P. stuff going on, but we can’t say for sure. As for Derek, he seems EXACTLY the same way he was when we first saw him (again, we can’t say for sure, but that’s just from my observation). Again, what a shame if they have taken a turn for the worst…but I am optimistic at the moment!

No one knows what’s going on, that was just one person’s speculation. I’m sure their relationship is fine.
As for what Emily may or may not have said – well, just because someone says something doesn’t automatically make it true. If Emily said that, what makes her word good? Not saying it’s NOT, just that everyone has their own perspective – but they aren’t automatically RIGHT.
As for people changing, in general – it can often be called growing up. It happens – it doesn’t have to be negative.
Sorry! Helio’s to a racecar as I am to a keyboard (as in I can go fast on a keyboard like he does in a racecar, especially if I know what I’m gonna type) lol! I know that nothing’s certain, but like I said. I’ve dealt with enough “changed” people in my life and to see D of all people end up like that would be really depressing to me. I never think badly of him and only when I read the stupid DWTS message board on abc.com would the possibility of him being bad in any way would EVER cross my mind (but I choose to ignore those accusations haters make). All we can really do is hope that things are fine.
I didn’t say there was something definitely wrong with Derek’s relationship with his dad and that side of the family. It was mostly speculation. I just thought it was strange he was going to New York instead of visiting his dad in Utah, who he doesn’t see much of. Since I really don’t know what he’s doing in NY, he could just be meeting his family there or simply visiting Shannon.
And I said Emily’s tweets and myspace. She had a myspace blog announcing BHB was parting ways with Dan, but still said something about him being her friend. Dan also commented on the post.
During that same time she kept tweeting on twitter about how upset she was and she didn’t understand why some people changed. Many people didn’t know who she was talking about, but I kind of thought she meant Derek and Mark because the thing was going on with Dan at that time and she seemed very close to Dan while the distance with her, Derek, and Mark seemed to grow.
That was just Emily’s POV. I’m sure Mark and Derek have their own side of the story. And maybe Emily could have been upset over something else, I was just looking at the timing of it and the fact that when she had live chats on UStream she ignores the questions about if BHB has broken up and personal stuff about if she talks to Derek and Mark.
It’s just how I perceived things…
you know it also could be that they are meeting up there dad…idk where he lives..but maybe they wanted a new york christmas this year…we’ll never know
Maybe he has family there. I know Derek has a huge family, so I guess they’re bound to be spread out all over the country. I’m kind of jealous of Derek right now. I would LOVE to visit New York during the holidays. It looks so beautiful.
I just noticed this site has a message board. Why doesn’t anyone ever use it? I can think of major boards for Julianne and Mark, but none for Derek.

I think you’re right about Emily, for what it’s worth. That’s always been my suspicion. We may also be wrong about Derek and Shannon – Shannon just tweeted that a girlfriend of hers from Canada is there with her. Maybe it’s all three of them – who knows?
How is your mod search going? I think it will be great to finally have a board for just Derek. I’m always speculating aobut something, but don’t have any Derek fans to talk to about it.
Yeah Dan definitely has to do something with it because Emily posted some myspace blog and tweeted about people changing and being upset. I’m confused how she can like Dan so much. The guy seems like an idiot to me.
Maybe Derek’s family is getting together in NYC if he’s not just with Shannon. They all were in Nashville (probably because of Marabeth), so maybe they changed the venue…
OMG I know Krissy! I was kinda shocked the first time I heard the BHB sound (as opposed to the AA sound) and I got use to it, but this new BH one is no good in comparison! And while I personally don’t really like too much country, Derek’s voice would sound fantastic singing ANYTHING!
I liked the earlier version of Move that Derek danced to with Cheryl at that Disney thing – it sounded like it was just Derek singing and it sounded less electronic. I would bet that it was a demo with Derek only. He sounds great with Julianne too, I agree.

Good, I’m not the only one thirsty in this drought! lol But it’s so boring during the off season. Maybe we should do contests or something…
I’ve got one game in mind that we can play – maybe I’ll post it later.
I think Derek’s spending christmas with Shannon. He just spent thanksgiving with his mom and sisters and saw Jules recently, so maybe he just wants to see shannon. I wonder do they ever spend holidays with Bruce, doesn’t seem like they see him a lot.
Anyway, I think BHB has split. Emily Grace lives in Orange County, she was even there when Derek and Mark performed on DWTS, so obviously the band is going no where. Sam went back to London a long time ago, and I think Harry might have permanently left too. I think the only reason Emily is staying is because of her connections she’s made since touring with Demi Lovato. It sure doesn’t sound like she hangs with Derek or Mark.
Oh God I hope not!!! It was bad enough they did their biggest televised performance w/out the rest of the REAL BHB and to that song (no offense to those who did like it, but it’s their worst imo, especially compared to all their good stuff), but now they might be over permanently?!
I definitely agree with you Hotaru. I love Derek but I hated “Move” and them dancing to it was even weirder. I think they would have scored more fans if they had the whole band and sang one of their great songs before Hollywood records got a hold of them. I honestly miss the days when they were Almost Amy, the sound then was better imo. I miss “Millions” “Love London” and those songs, now I can only find those in old You Tube vids. It just seems easier to break into Country music- like for Julianne.
I think it’s likely he’s spending Xmas with Shannon and I find that quite strange if the two are “ex” like they say. Sure, they’re still friends, but this is *Christmas* – so it makes me wonder.
But hey, to each his own. I say do whatever makes you happy. Life’s too short.
Derek said on twitter that the band will play live together (I’m assuming he means in concert) but I do think that it will be sans Emily. I think Sam and Harry will be back. I think Harry is only going home for Xmas, and Sam said he might be back in the states soon. It is complicated because they are not US citizens. If they aren’t working, they can only stay for a limited time – which is why I think Sam went back to England and Harry stayed – Harry had a gig with another band. But I could be wrong – no one knows and those that do know aren’t talking.
Lol Heidi, you aren’t the only one who has been wondering about Derek and Shannon. I don’t understand why they broke up because they still seem to be the best of friends and very close if you ask me. I was mostly wondering why Derek and Julianne never spend a lot of time with Bruce. Perhaps they don’t get along with his family with his wife? Who knows…
The whole BHB thing is confusing to me. The guys all seem so close, yet Emily only seems to be close to Harry and Sam. I wonder what happened between her, Derek, and Mark. If I’m guessing right I think it has to do with their old manager Dan, who Emily calls her “best friend” on twitter. I’m actually surprised the whole band might play together, it’d seemed it was only going to be Derek and Mark now.

It seems he is spending it in NY – kinda strange, but sounds like fun.
