Best Dance of the Season
…and possibly the series, in my not so humble opinion. 
ABC put up the high definition version of Joanna and Derek’s futuristic paso doble, so I figured I would post it here for our viewing pleasure. Side note – I was out last night with some friends who have watched DWTS since the first season and they also said they thought it might have been the best dance they’d seen on this show.
I thought this was an amazingly choreographed dance. I’m probably stating the obvious but there is no one on the show that choregraphs dances as well as Derek does.The talent that guy has just makes a person speechless. It also was well executed.I give Joanna all the credit in the world this season. You know she has given it her all and what more can you ask of a person.Hope and pray the fan base is there for them this week.I’m just curious. Do you think it is more Derek’s fan base that has helped them? This is nothing against Joanna at all.
I think Derek has a huge fanbase, but I don’t think anyone on the show’s fanbase is large enough to get them to the final four -there has to be a lot of other people out there who just think they dance very well. And I agree.
I think it will be one of the most memorable dances, maybe not ever but in the past few seasons. Is it just me or are all of the other memorable dances from the early seasons? Like Drew Lachey, Mario Lopez, and Emmit Smith’s freestyles. I feel like now a days we just get one good freestyle per season. Maybe that’s just because that’s when the show was new, but I don’t know.
I hope this season good freestyle go to Derek and Joanna but Kym is really good in freestyle too
Yes Derek did an amazing freestyle with Brooke, and Kym is great as well. I think that Dmitry would do really well with the freestyle too, so fingers crossed that it’s the three of them in the finale! (and that they get good songs, because I think the low-key song is what ruined Gilles and Cheryl’s chances last season.)
It was by far the best dance of the season and the only memorable dance of the season (not sure about ever).
I suppose I can’t say it’s the best of the series honestly since I haven’t watched all the seasons, but I’m pretty sure there wasn’t any better dance in Season 1-5 even though I didn’t watch then and there definitely hasn’t been any better in Season 6-9!!
Maybe I’m biased though! LOL 
I don’t think they actually can blame the song in the freestyle – they may not have total control over the songs over the course of the season, but I’m pretty sure that if it can clear legally, they get what they want for the freestyle. Derek said, the season he won, that he picked his freestyle song before the season even started. He apparently had a freestyle in mind for a long time. The whole point of a freestyle is to do what THEY want – if the producers manipulate the songs, it’s unfair.
I sure hope he’s been thinking about a freestyle lately, but I think they have a shot at final three, provided the fans do their job.
