Star Power and Voting Team DJ
Time for a little bed time story. 
So, I was out this afternoon at the local pub. I often go on Sundays to read trashy magazines (Us, People) while watching the Tennessee Titans play – or get their butts kicked, as it has been up until last week. Samuel Adams is always involved, as well as some food that is very bad for me. Today was a beautiful day in Nashville – about 72 and sunny – perfect beer and football weather.
Some of you may have figured it out from reading this site, but I’m a rather outgoing, chatty person. I have no problem going somewhere, spur of the moment, and making friends. This afternoon, after a few annoying false starts, this older gentleman sat down next to me. I would say he was in his mid-70’s. We were chatting and cheering for the Titans and got to talking. He was telling me about his favorite TV shows – he likes Wheel of Fortune. I told him that I hadn’t seen that show in years until recently and had forgotten that it was pretty entertaining. I mentioned that I only started seeing it because it was on immediately before Dancing with the Stars. He said that he and his wife LOVE DWTS. We were literally chatting about it for 5 seconds when he said, with NO prompting from me, that he LOVES that “blond headed kid whose sister used to be on the show”. I’m telling you that I gave NO indication that Derek was my favorite or that I even had a favorite. Without prompting, this darling 70 year old man was raving about how amazing Derek is, and that he dances like nothing he’s ever seen before. You know, it’s not just us – Derek has star power that attracts all ages and genders.
And he bought me a beer, so he’s even MORE cool.
I also found a couple Team DJ fans in another unlikely place – a good friend of mine (and her husband) who I hadn’t spoken to in a while brought up DWTS. She loves Joanna and Derek and she hopes they win. She doesn’t like Donny or Mya – this surprised me because I totally expected her to be a Donny fan. Nope. Team DJ all the way.
Why am I telling these bed time stories?? Well, to tell people that we aren’t the only ones who are rooting for Team DJ and who think Derek is a STAR. WE can do this!! But to get them to the finals we will have to vote like we’ve never voted before. I feel like a Titans cheerleader (but from last year when we won 11 games in a row). I wanna see Derek and Joanna in the final four – do you? VOTE!!!
We know Derek can choreograph a killer Paso:
And we know he can bring sexy back with Joanna:

OMG! The same thing happened to me except it wasnt a 70 yr old man. My friends mom mentioned that she loved DWTS and i was surprised because where i live not many people watch it. Then once i told her i loved it too we started to talk. She then randomly said that her favorite one on the show was Derek. I burst out into laughter because i love him too. We then had an hourlong conversation about how great he is. Then we looked at great pics from this site.
The Paso Doble that Derek did with Lil Kim was amazing, they should have gotten a “30″! I try not to notice the score but everytime I see it I’m like wow, that was perfect and the crowd went crazy!
I know Derek will put together an amazing Paso Doble & Quick Step for Joanna! Looking forward to their performances tonight! Go Team DJ all the way to the finals!
Heidi, I love that story! How sweet. Derek probably reminded him of Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire! I know my my thinks he dances like those two, especially Fred Astaire! I tell you the truth everytime I watch it with my family, my mom is is just in aw of “Derek”, she basically ignores everyone when he is dancing. She’s like wow, he sure can dance and even comments about his choreography!-LOL

Good Story Heidi! and of course others see in Derek what we do…he’s just that talented and stands out! But I know what you mean about being pleasently surprised at some fans he might have. Everyone knows how much I love the show and Derek
but if they watch or not they like discusses everything with me and even if they aren’t a fan of the show I have def. gotten others interested and take notice in Derek too! GO TEAM DJ!! I think they can DEF make the finals and win! 
Great bed time story Heidi!! That’s totally awesome! I’m definitely ready to vote like crazy tomorrow! Team DJ sooo deserves to be in the final 4…..Final 3 actually, but let’s take one week at a time!!
