Reprise – Derek and Joanna on ET
Some kind soul named beautifulsoulxxx (hee) ripped the ET interview to YouTube so that it’s much BIGGER. And you all know I like BIGGER. 
What I am about to say is not me shipping Derek and Joanna. But I LOVE the relationship these two have – they are hilarious together. All of Derek’s partners have brought out different sides to his personality and Lil’ Kim was my favorite, prior to Joanna – I am really loving how these two interact. Very jokey, funny, goofy. I like how they look at each other – and no, I’m not speaking romantically. I just think they have a cool relationship. I enjoy watching it.
And I will reiterate – DEREK, have Shirley send your artwork, pick your favorite pieces and let me have them to auction them for charity!!! I think I will put this in every other post until he does it. 
..and so it begins…lol…
I wish them the best. If they don’t end up together I hope and pray that they are not soulmates…Cause that would be such a shame… Can’t wish for them what happened between me and that guy …lol..
.I don’t really know how they feel for each other. But I agree with Derek Fan that the ball is on Joanna’s court. But she might not want to move without any assurances. But Derek might also not want to do or say anything knowing she is engaged! Just like that waiting game that happened to me and my s.. It really takes guts and courage to takes chances. Sadly, I did not have it in my situation. Because I felt so “unsure” of everything. But I should have trusted my intinct and followed my heart which I did not. That’s why it’s difficult to see people who maybe soulmates and end up apart. .
On a humorous thought though, based on what I can see, I really do think they would have been truly happy with each other … fun, joy,passion would probably characterized that relationship.. and can u imagine how their little blond children would look like? LOL
…..and how does Joanna Hough sounds to you? LOL. We are taking it to a higher level,huh!. Did you read Joanna’s tweet last Nov.28 addressed to Derek that she misses him(as a dance parner)and that she should be his dance partner again in season 10? That tweet really put a smile in my face.I dont want to interpret it beyond what it is but that’s”something”.Not sure if D responded to her tweet directly(hope so). Looks like they are both busy doing their own thing, but hey,they both live in LA.You’ll never know.

Typical Taureans never reveal everything. Only those of which they wish to reveal.. FOr security purposes of course
SO to say something to someone like revealing one’s feelings and not being sure of the other person’s feelings..It’s actually a risk. If the situation is reverse and it is Joanna at Derek’s position and IF she has feelings for him, I do believe she will say something. She’s has such strong guts, she can break away from the mold. But her hands are literally tied right now. Because she is loyal (whether genuinely or out of taureanian habit)… She would reveal somethings and then hide the rest… when you’re almost sure she likes/loves you she will say or do something totally the opposite…That will totally throw one off.. Again this is because we dont want people to get us totally.. So there is leeway there for security…
I think though if someone has to initiate here, it would have to be Derek. But there’s just too many thing piled up in this case that can make Taurean guys uneasy to MOVE or reveal anything. First of which is taking the risk and swallowing one’s pride for something one is not even sure of what the outcome will be. In the end it will depend on the strength of his love for her (If it even exsist) LOL
Caitlin-Cant believe we are talking about Derek and Joanna early morning…hahahha.I dont work regular hours,so i stay awake and sleep during daytime.Anyhow,not sure either about Shannon and Derek.I did not follow their love story.In fact,i was suprised to find out later on that they were seeing each other as their romance on DWTS was not something that i did pay attention to. When i found out,i knew it wont last.Not sure who pulled the plug but i have the feeling its Derek. Yes,they looked awesome on their photos in New York but no sparks on Derek’s eyes.Shannon on the other hand looked like she was on 7th heaven. As i have mentioned,i dont think that Derek was planning to be with Shannon on the party since he bought the suit in New York. Why did he bring his own suit if he was indeed planning to attend the party?Dont know who stalked who and how they ended up together attending the party.Who knows
I heard a radio interview with Derek and he was asked directly if he and Shannon will get back together.He said that “I dont think so”without hesitation.I believed that they are just good friends.I feel that Shannon still has feelings for Derek but not sure if its the same way on Derek’s side.So,Joanna(if ever)has nothing to worry about Shannon.The ball is in her court.Whether she will dribble the ball and take it for a shot will entirely up to her.
Did you watche DWTS tonight?It was awful.All freestyle sucks.Anyhow,Joanna went for a bowling session with her family and fiancee but was able to find time to send a twitt to Derek to let him know that she missed him(as dancing partner) and its not fair that they were not able to do the freestyle tonight.How cute!!!.These two need to sit down and talk(big time)!!!!

Well, Taurean once they decided on something, it might take a while, but usually is final. Doesnt mean they would not change their mind. But it would be rare or unusual. So when Joanna marries. That would be it, I think
Anway wow i didnt even think there may have been stalking going on between them..LOL.. just joking…One thing that I forgot to mention about Taurean and this is very important. They DO NOT USUALLY TAKE INITIATIVE!They expect the other person begin something before they do anything. A bit of encouragement or sign or motivation. They are very good in following and completion of things. But to start things…This is a setback between 2 taureans. Although one good thing about Joanna she is a risk-taker. But I really dont see any definite signs on either side to the other. Geese we need an ARIAN! LOL…

Believe me it is after the DWTS that the “fun” begins because it is when people starts to miss one another..It is also when one realizes if it was the dancing rehearsals or the actual person you really missed..lol… well if they care for each other…DO you know, at the time I was in contact with my soulmate I never once considered what will happen later on? Like I never thought i would no longer get to see him afterwards even though i knew he was engaged? It was only when I can no longer see him, that I started to miss him..TERRIBLY! I have not seen the the dwts yet. I was at work when it aired..i’ll watch it on the net later. But I heard Mya got the highest score totals.BTW do you know this is the 1st season that I watched DWTS? So I got no idea of Shannon-Derek, Brook-Derek, ect. teamup. BUt I did become aware that Shannon became a gf.When I saw the interview above from ET. I wondered if he was this way with a partner.. Then it must have been more intense with shannon.. So I asked one of my co workers who is a “veteran audience’ to tell me of Shannon-Derek time in DWTS. She looked thoughtfully and said, ” It seemed he looks at Joanna more tenderly..” Looks more tenderly than someone who was his gf…NOw how do u explain that! LOL

Since i am not a Taurean,i believed what you said about Jo’s characater.She strikes me though as very a loyal person.She may not take the full initaitive but she was giving a lot of hints that makes me crinch soemtimes knowing her situation. I think,Derek knows somehow .If there’s something there(only him can tell),i guess,he will have hesitation to move forward for a lot of reasons.His relationship with Shannon failed after meeting her in DWTS(but their affair is another story for another discussion).You are right,this will be the testing ground after all have been said and done,mirror ball handed over to the winner.We’ll see if they really would miss one another.They both leave in L.A and the fianceee in Miami.Uhmmmmm.
Derek has always been affectionate with his partners and really tried hard to make them shine on the dancefloor .That’s what i love most about him.But you’re co-worker was right,there was something special how he interacted with Jo compared to the rest of his past dance partners(including Shannon).I cant pinpoint the difference in details but i see it as a whole.
My regret this season was for Jo and Derek not making it to the finals especially after watching how lame the freestyles last night of all the 3 finalist.Derek could have won easily. I thought Mya was unbeatable but after her copy cat freestyle from broadway hit”Hairspary”(dont know what Dmitri was thinking),Derek’s freestyle could have sealed the deal. No one can beat Derek on the freestyle.

One of the rules when it comes to Taurus is NEVER EVER MAKE A Taurean Jealous. It is a turn off to them because you are putting them in an insecure position which they hate. So I guess if Joanna has feelings for Derek, that picture that was twitted by someone 2 days ago of shannon and derek to joanna might have gone and done it

I dont think Jo got jealous of that photo of Derek and Shannon(if she has indeed feelings for D). D and Shannon are just good friends.Derek bought his suit in New York.Meaning,he was not planning to attend the party with Shannon. If so,he should have brought a party suit. How he ended up with Shannon that night,i have no clue. I think,the problem lies on Joanna’s predicament because she is engaged. Derek is free.

JOANNA DID TWITTED THAT SHE BELIEVES IN SOULMATES WHEN I ASKED HER. But I did not ask her if she thinks Derek is her soulmate
Well if they are they would know right? No,not necessarily because one or both can deny it. But with soulmates everything sort of falls at the right place.I dont mean the situation.. But between the 2 people.. Like Extreme similarities with likes & dislikes (with food, music and so on). Their differences are complementary differences. If they are soulmates, it would be difficult to separate. For regular people it is hard. For soulmates, you can go insane! 
Ok maybe not insane. But your heart yearns and yearns and your soul seems to wait forever. You just want to see this person a lot and be with that person. Ok maybe that is also sign of being in love. And when you finally see the personyou forget your sorrow… You are just….Happy. There is joy in the heart. Just hearing that persons name makes you smile, excited.
Why do I know this? Because I’ve met my soulmate and there is some similarities to their situations. I was actually the one in Derek’s position
They were also engaged and the man fell in love with me.. But I was too honorable. Raised as a conservative also I did not want to hurt anyone. I was waiting for him to call off the engagement, and he it turned out was waiting for me to tell him I love him before he does. Because I never said anything. I thought he knew 
I am also a Taurean so I demonstrate intead of say things 
Anyway, Part of it was also I was afraid he would say he would just marry anyway. So to save myself some pride, I left. I left the country to go abroad. And he took it as a sign that I did not care. When in truth I just did not want to be there if/when he gets married. So then it’s just too much to accept that I was losing a soulmate. So I kept denying it to myself. I kept thinking over and over that,” he is not my soulmate.”
Now how do I know we’re soulmates? Because aside form being similar. Many strange coincidences were happening. Like I would dream of a song and then it would be the same song he was listening to that day wherever he was. Many parallel things that happened in ourlives. Like when we almost both contemplate(not proud of it) suicide at the same year. We read the same book at the same time. We had the same depression on the same year. Oh and we never run out of things to talk about. We agreed in almost everything. We annoyed and teased each other so much. But we laughed the most. We both wanted to be come religious when we’re young.. The similarities just goes on and on and it was so odd. I even have weird dreams about him. BUT the problem was, I couldnt get past the fact that he was engaged, and it didnt really play well with my characteristic Taurean possessivenes. I was annoyed at the situation inwardly, but never showed it. In any other relationship I would have just walk out like a typical Taurean when in an “unsure” position.. But the love I felt was far too strong. So I made that little sacrifice… It was unbelievable…I just cannot help what I felt. And I am a very moral person. So, I thought marriage will change it… But made it worse and put both of us in an impossible situation..LOL. I learned A VERY IMPORTANT LESSON. And that is -to follow one’s heart and to seize time when you still have it. Because if you do not, you will live to regret it. I am a living witness to it. Life can be a veeerry long time living without a soulmate. Of course one can eventually love again. BUt it would be different. There would always be that something missing. As opposed when you,re with your soulmate and you dont really noticed anything missing because you dont noticed anything at all only that you’re happy… WHen you were in my situation, in the end you’d wish that you’d never even met. Because at least you wouldnt know what you’ve missed. If I could do things over, I would have told him how I felt. And he could have talked to me and broken off than engagement lol. Missed opportunities are one of the most tragic things in the world. The world did what it could to bring us together. My Taurean stubborness and insecurity got in the way. Not to mention how well we can hide things to seem in control..
Anway, dont mean to talk about myself here lol… I just wanted to let you know the characteristics of soulmates… Now if joanna and derek has that.. Then they are soulmates…
However if you would ask me to observe them. Derek looked like he’s a genuinely affectionate peron and so I can tell only that she likes Joanna as a person that’s all. I guess I can see more of Joanna because I am a girl taurean like Maria
She does look like she is controlling herself. And it is definitly because she is engaged. But I can also see based on how she looks at him that she likes him…a lot! lol But again that holding back… I dont know maybe that’s why her waltz was weird, because it reflected what she felt on the inside. I think she already has some hesitations/resistance… ops not assuming anything. But of something. Now this is interesting.. Unexplained anger and hesitations… You guys need to seriously talk! lol

Really like your comment. Now that the season is over,we wont be able to follow what will happen next between Derek and Joanna. My guess,is,they will move one with their lives.Joanna will get married and Derek will have a new dance partner unless “fate takes over”if they are really indeed soulmates. My mom,used to tell me that soulmates looked alike (physically) and it was striking to me that whenever i looked at DJ,they looked like twins. Its really weird. I am not saying this because i was fantazing them to be together,NO,not at all..As i have mentioned before,i have watched DWTS from the beginning and never really cared about other Derek’s dance partners until Joanna came along. Never seen D acted this way.Again,i maybe wrong and this is purely based on my observation.Its weird that i was not the only one who noticed .I thought,i was crazy.
I saw Larry King live the other day and i was stunned on how Jo was looking at Derek’s face as if she was scanninng every piece of it.She also looked so stunningly beautiful too. I am convinced more than anything that they really genuinely like each other.To what extend,i dont know. Through their rehearsals,i can see how they complement their strenghts and weaknesses. Yes,Derek is genuinely affectionate in general i guess because he grew up surronded by females(all sisters) and he came from a tight family, but his affection with Jo is something else.I hope that they will remain friends .Not sure if we will see them together outside DWTS since Jo is engaged.Dont think Derek will make a move nor Jo at this point. Time will tell.I just hope that it wont be too late. As the saying goes, “At the end of their lives,people regret things they did not do ,more than the things they did”
I also saw Larry King Live. She looked exceptionally beautiful…hmm wonder why..lol… It must be her fiance:)And I also saw the look you’re talking about. The comments I mentioned earlier about how joanna looked like she is controlling herself. I based it on all the clips I saw and everytime I see her with derek. But the one I saw on Larry King was probably the most obvious one..LOL.. Now Taureans can control what they say and do, but it is more difficult to hide feelings and expressions for us…I dont know if she was aware of it but she looked like she wanted to kiss him…lol… total taurean control was the only thing that held her! lol… Of course it can be just admiration. But I am almost sure it was because of the night before. Someone twitted a pic of derek and shannon to joanna and shannon looked quite nice there. It probably made an impression on Joanna being quite competitive
Well, it could be just that…or it could be something else(remembering now that look she gave him)..If I did not know that she is engaged I will say that it was a look of someone in love… LOL..But because she is I am not sure. I only know it looked like she wanted to kiss him…lol
I saw a clip of her leaving Larry King Live and I heard something odd… You should watch it and you would notice it if you’re observant. Her fiance seem a little impatient waiting at the side while she signs autograph. Someone asked her how the dancing went and her answered puzzled me. She said something totally out of place…

OMG,you said it. That was my observation too.It looked like she was about to grab and kiss him. I also think,the video on this blog(ET interview)was obvious too. I felt how Joanna tried so hard to control her emotions and yet still came out as very obvious.She could hardly talk. Like you said,if i did not know that she was engaqed,i would say that she is in-love .Not sure either if she was aware how her expression came out.That’s something she could not hide. Remember,when they did the Rumba?Derek approached her fiancee after the dance and acknowledged him.Apparently,Derek was worried because of the pre-packaged video(on the beach).But what caught my attention was Joanna did not even approach his fiancee(wonder why). Then she said afterwards that “She is in-love” and Derek pointed to her fiancee. Call me nuts but the feeling that i got was that she was not reffering to her fiancee when she made that statement.(this is just a gut feeling and not intended to ruin any relationship)

You guys nailed it.You are not the only one who noticed the closeness between Derek and Joanna.In fact.,i mentioned it to someone in confidentiality who happens to be a fan of Derek too.It bothered me(in good way)because i know that Jo is engaged. I thought i was the only one who noticed something was blooming between these two.In the beginning,i was ignoring it since Jo is engaged and i was thinking that they are just doing it for T.V(you know what i mean)and besides,Derek is an affectionate person who got along with all his partners. Derek also mentioned that he is not into blond and Joanna may not be his type. But the more i watched them together,there is something special on how Derek interact and look at Jo and how he openly flirted with her. I have not seen him this way even when he danced with Shannon before. Jo also looked at him on a different way and i feel sometimes that she is controlling her emotions because she is committed to someone else. They also touched each other with affection(noticed how Jo touched Derek after the futuristic Paso)and how many times Derek kissed her hair?
I saw this interview with Derek saying that he wont look on Playboy where Jo was featured.Its a sign on how he really respect her.They look so beautiful together and they really enjoyed each other’s company. He openly said on many interviews that “he love her”which i interpreted as a friendly love but the fact is,i never heard him say that about anyone else .I never thought that i would like Joanna.In the beginning,i just saw her as one of Dereks partner.I’m a big fan of Derek but never really liked anybody in particular with his past dance partners the way i like Jo despite of negative write-ups about her. Maria,i thought of the same way when Derek got angry the other day.I was thinking,the anger may not only be about the dance practice but the frustration knowing that she cant be possibly be his(at this time as she is engaged). As you said,i dont want to sabotage Jo’s relationship either with her fiancee.Our observation maybe entirely wrong but if Derek has feelings for Jo,it must be hard for him seeing his fiancee in the audience.I also noticed that something was off about Derek when he danced the Rumba with Jo.The danced was beautiful but i had the feeling that he was feeling awkward since her fiancee was in the audience.This is just my personal observation and im glad that i was not alone on this. This is the first time that i dont want DWTS to end cause i love to see them dance. Jo may not be the best dancer but i really like their chemistry and thats what i am going to miss when the show ends.

Joanna as I say is a Taurean and I tried to think if I would be in that position what I’ll do… Taurean or not we are still individually unique. But … thinking of rocking the boat usually scare us. Like we would just keep doing the same stuff than change for the most part. I would probably still go through and walk all the way to the altar even with hesitation,unless someone actually kidnapped me or pulled me aside and really convinced me otherwise.. If there would be change it has to be gradual… What you said about Playboy made me laugh a little. Derek may have no plans to look. But Joanna showed him her pictures anyway. I mean was he allowed to say, “I dont want to look?” LOL…
I also would like to see them win. I think the show is not just about who’s the best dancers. But because it is called dancing with the stars, there must be an Xfactor about the performance. MYA may be the best technical dancer but among the 4 she has the least xfactor. And the DJ team has such great chemistry that’s why I think they should win. DO YOU THINK THEY MAYBE SOULMATES? Because from what I know soulmates are not only similar they accomplish spectacular and great things together.
Well at most only 2 weeks remains for their danceteam. I think if they feel somehing for each other then they should just go ahead and say it to each other. At first I thought, nah, let it go and another season will come with another partner and everyone will just move on. But then I thought. Wait, these are actually the kinds of regrets we hear about from soo many people. I mean if a person found someone amazing that he/she admires and respect and love and to top it all you have fun with each other and are similar in many things. These are things one should seriously consider. Because once a person gets married (then that’s it)-well I mean I know there is divorce but why go through less ideal and more complicated path? But I think also this is a problem if they do feel for each other. Joanna is obviously ready for marriage and family. I dont think Derek is…. But then again what do I know…LOL

I agree about not rocking the boat. Thinking like a Taurean, something really dramatic will have to happen for me to call off anything I already plan especially about marriage.That is just the practical trait of Taurean attached to hardwork on something they’ve already begun. But you know Taureans are also romantics because they like everything that is pleasurable to the senses. The idea of soulmates will fit more on this area…So sometimes there is a tug of war between these two (practicality and being romantic) As to which one a Taurean will choose will to follow will depend upon what the person believe in more. And there the values and belief system that one is raise up in comes into play … I am more of a romantic.. But I think Joanna is more on the practical side.
Oh I forgot to add as to Joanna controlling her emotions. Believe me- she does!

I absolutely love this interview. One of my favorite Derek interviews ever!! I agree with you Heidi, Joanna is my favorite partner of Derek’s. Who would have ever thought it at the beginning of the season and even now with as much hate as Joanna gets, but I love her. And although Derek would never be able to admit it, I think she’s his favorite too. He seems sooo happy working with her and you can tell he loves her. Cute how he talks about looking forward to rehearsals and it’s not work. I love how happy she makes him. And I love looking at all the pretty between the two of them.
By the way, someone posted on twitter that Derek and Julianne were featured on ET last night and they showed home videos of them. Did you happen to record it? I’m dying to see it.
HOPEFULLY, I’ll be getting that interview on Monday night, late. My affiliate is messing with the air dates for some reason. They advertised that interview with Derek and Joanna about Playboy on thursday, but then didn’t show it.They say they’re showing it on monday. I think that’s the same ep that has Derek/Julianne. We’ll see.
DJ finally, I thought I was the only one seeing things!LOL…Just wondering though if it is a one way street. Joanna is engaged, ya know. But then again, she’s not yet married and LOVE can be a very formidable force to handle. I think one can actually go crazy if you resist it for sometime. It comes out in many differnt ways such as unexplained anger etc..lol… Anyway, they are both Taurean and I am Taurean, so I can say they are both very patient, but you will defintely dont want them to lock horns!Because this sign is one the most hard-headed. And they’re usually quite stable when they enter into a relationship. They want stability. So Joanna will probably stick with her fiance. Except for 2 things…if she will fall deeply in love with Derek (assuming that hasn’t happen already)and she would feel secure with him. LOVE and SECURITY is the key here. Okay, before this gets out of control. I am not meaning to sabotaging anyone’s relationship esp. Joanna’s.LOL…
I am just saying Joanna and Derek seemed so perfect for each other and regret is always at the end. They’re both single at this moment.But one doesnt want the years to passed and looked back with regrets. I could be wrong about all this but..there should be nothing wrong if they think a little and ask themselves of why they are happy when they are together and looking forward to those rehearsals. Why do they make each other laugh..why JOanna puts up with times when Derek is short-tempered when she herself gets frustrated in that studio(rememeber TO?TO actually got Joanna’s Taurean side) LOL..and why do they looked and talk to each other like they love each other LOL. Because I tell you last time I’ve fallen in love. I laugh all the time,because I love to laugh when he laughs and joke all the time with this person because I want him to laugh. I did not want to annoy him whatsoever even if there are times things he says are already annoying!LOL…HOwever, I do think that this is not the right time to talk about this between them because they might lose their concentration. Right now they’re both too busy to see anything yet but are rightfully focused on the competition. Hope I did not upset anyone with this comment. Just my opinion.:)
Joanna seems much more comfortable in front of the camera interviewing every week. Her personality seems to go really well with Derek’s “goof ball” antics. I am so glad he gets along so well with all of his partners and I think that says something very positive about him as a person.
I love D’s Quicksteps and the futuristic Paso will surely be inventive coming from the D-Man.
