Buddy TV’s Spotlight on Derek and Joanna
Buddy TV has been spotlighting each of the DWTS Season 9 Couples and they finally got around to Derek and Joanna. For Joanna, they use the standard resume but what really interested me (of course) is what they said about Derek:
Derek Hough’s History
Blonde and blue-eyed, Derek Hough has perhaps one of the best records among Dancing with the Stars pro’s. Since his season 5 debut, he had made the top half every time. Also worth noting is that the last time Derek teamed up with a model (Brooke Burke, season 7), he won.
Their prediction for Derek and Joanna??
My Prediction: In the Finale
I guess it’s fair to say that this couple will sizzle when they hit the dance floor. Given Joanna’s enthusiasm and Derek’s energy, the blonde duo will surely heat things up. Barring any unexpected boo-boo’s (such as the possibility that Joanna can’t dance to save her life), the two will sail to the finale.
Hope hope hope…. 
I really hope that Joanna can dance. Derek is my favorite pro dancer, but if Joanna can’t dance and if she is anything like I saw on Superstars I can’t support her. I truly vote for the best dancers and Derek is really good at bringing out the best in his partners, so hopefully he will do the same with Joanna. I’m not worried that Derek and Joanna won’t get along (who couldn’t love Derek)I’m worried about Joanna’s attitude once the judges start critiquing her! I saw a video where she said that T.O. was not trying and anybody would’ve acted the way she did. I totally disagree. You don’t have to act like a jerk, because someone else does. She went too far in my opinion, it was ugly!!!!
I know that a lot of you are Derek and Julianne fans?But let’s be honest here,Cheryl is the best pro and has the best records.The only time Cheryl did not make to top teams was when she had Wayne.Julianne and Derek never had anyone much older than they are.Cheryl had at least 3-20 years older than she is and never had anyone younger than 30 years old.I have respect for Derek for his creativity, but Cheryl in my opinion is just the best overall.Good choreographer,teacher,and a dancer.One of the best looking pro too.She also have the most nomination for an Emmy.I think that Cheryl,Derek,Julianne, and Mark are the best pros in that order.

Cheryl only had one really bad partner in 7 seasons,so is not that hard go long on the competition, and if she is so amazing, wtf was that freesyle with Gilles( she was the star and gilles was just the prop on that dance)and Adam were 24 years older than Julianne.Cheryl is good, one of the bests but not “THE BEST”.
Derek and Julianne definitely deserve to win! They are the underdogs since SYTYCD usually wins but you never know!
SYTYCD always has amazing dances but this year nominees are not as strong like they were on preveus years, i do think that Julianne and derek have a chance.
finger cross for the emmys today, Julianne is still my favorite pro(i just love her), and her and Derek really deserve.
You can count on my vote for Derek everytime. I’m trying desperately to talk my daughter into voting for Derek. So far I’ve got her willing to split her vote but I’ll keep on working on her.She’s in her late teens so she has a mind of her own.I agree that last year after Derek and Kim left it wasn’t the same. A real let down.
THIS is what I like to HEAR!! All this voting talk!! Start psyching yourselved up now, peeps, the first week will be critical.
Mark seems to be everyone’s dark horse pick but if everyone is picking him, is a dark horse? Mark has a following and is charming. Lacey’s funny. Derek is the best pro and Joanna is probably the most disliked of the female celebs so if Derek does what he does so well and Joanna dances well, hopefully they can build a fan base but in the mean time, Derek fans need to get out and vote! Vote so you can see Derek dance. Last season, it was so dull after Lil Kim and Derek left.
Let’s focus week to week and get Derek and Jo through – we’ll worry about Mark when it comes time to beat him.
Derek fans will need to get out and vote. He is no doubt the BEST pro on the show. As I stated before Donny is getting all the coverage and his fans are out of control. Derek will win fans with his great choreography. Joanna’s part will be to dance well and come off pleasant and likable. She has some reputation rebuilding to do. Mark Decascos(SP?) seems to have alot of fans too for some reason. Anyway, I can’t wait for the premiere.
I loved what they said about Derek. He is the x factor for any celeb who is paired with him. Put Jennie, Shannon, Lil KIm or Brooke with any other pro, I doubt they would have gone as far as they did. If not for Marie, you bet Jennie would have been in the finals. I think Derek will help Joanna last longer than if she was paired with another pro. I appreciate the favorable prediction, but Joanna’s reputation is not the best going into this season. There are people planning on voting for Macy or Ashley hoping Joanna and Tom Delay leave early first. It is important Derek fans get out the vote for Joanna.
The great thing is that most people who vote on this show don’t likely pay attention to the pre-show crap. The other great thing about this show is that it’s famous for changing people’s minds about the contestants. Plus, Joanna has DEREK – the lucky….
