I never said Kim didn’t have a fan base, not a DWTS fan base. You can never tell what will connect with the audience. I’ll bet Ty didn’t have that big of a base, but he connected. As for Brooke, you have to consider whom the competition was that year. If you don’t have a big rival, an unknown can grow a fan base to compete. Ted, Rocco, Cloris? Really, Warren was the biggest name that season besides Susan Lucci who couldn’t dance,and Lance who was not the favorite from his boy group. MJH will have a huge Sabrina Fan base, Osmond, Irvin and a few others will have a fan base. Joanna’s personality will have to win over the fan base, or count on Derek’s fan base, which i think is large and GREW with Lil Kim fans. I’ll bet some of her fans will watch and support Derek this year. Although Giles was hot, a lot of his base was because of Cheryl, and lets face it, there was no other BIG draw last season. Wish them the best and of course I will be pulling for him…but if he loses early he can work more on his other interests..I wonder if they considered that when assigning partners. If the show was about dancing, Kim would have been in the finals..and I am Derek fan, not Kim.

ok, I just hope she treats Derek better than she treated T.O.! She seems to be very competitive though. Hopefully, she learnt something from the way that she acted on Superstars. How long did she and TO last anyway. I stopped watching after the 3rd episode. But Derek is very different from TO though. He puts his partners first and brings out the best in them. So this could be an interesting couple outside of Derek fans. But yah, I think they are going to be the best looking couple of the season!

Also, those saying Kim didn’t have a fanbase are wrong. It is just her fanbase are not typical DWTS viewers. You don’t sell millions of albums without having fans.

To be honest, if Donnie Osmond and Michael Irvin are good, they are going to be hard to beat. They probably will have the biggest fanbases. Donnie because his fans are in the age group that watch the show(older) and Michael b/c he has Dallas Cowboy fans which are a plenty.

she was my last choice as well hotaru. she seems to have a stuck up eastern european model attitude. derek is a sweetheart. i will try and reserve my judgement but i am only commenting on what i have seen. i will throw votes their way but if she annoys me i cannot support it.

Really, liking Derek and having chemistry with him is half the battle. If people are familiar with her from Superstars they may keep her around just for the fireworks. But I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt. Her big problem on Superstars seemed to be that T.O. wasn’t trying, wasn’t competing. NO ONE can ever say that about Derek. Even when he was so over dancing by the end of last season, he gave it his all.

And I’m going to put this out there right now too – If derek and Joanna get eliminated, I expect all of you to bust your butts getting Derek Design a Dance.

Well, Brooke Burke had no fanbase. I’m not going to count Derek and Joanna out at all – but if we’re being completely honest, Donny Osmond is the most likely person to win. Huge fanbase. And I’ve read that he’s been training in ballroom for a year. No clue if that is true. But even without that, I would put money on it right now. And this is the reason I didn’t want him on the show.

Our job is to keep Derek and Joanna around as long as possible – I’m willing to do what I have to do to make that happen. And I’ve got a few ideas along those lines. If Joanna is a great dancer, it’s not out of the question. But we’ll have to work at it.

I had my doubts with Kim but I grew to really like her. Hopefully she (Joanna) will surprise us too. It’s such a let down when Derek isn’t on the show. I’m going to keep and open mind about her. She didn’t get along with Terrell Owens but then he doesn’t get along with most teams he is on so who knows. I just wish Derek well. He is just so amazing to watch but you all know that.

I actually think that she will not have a strong enough fan base to keep them in it against some of the others. Let’s face it….Kim was a better dancer than a lot of the finalist…but she didn’t have the fan base. Not many people know who Joanna is, and when she is up against dancers with a fan base their votes will keep them in no matter how well she and Derek dance. I actually think they don’t have enough of a contrast to be a striking couple.

Yeah I know she was a b**** on Superstars but I’m not going to hold that against her…she seems like she really wants to do well so hopefully she can dance cause they do make a good looking couple!! She seems to like Derek from her tweets so we’ll just have to see how it goes! Although, who wouldn’t like Derek?!

I hope she’s more graceful like Brooke with the sex appeal of Lil Kim!-LOL Anyway, you all know what I mean. He does look happy with her. I think Derek is such a sweetheart to always photograph everything for his fans.
