Derek Hough Withdrawal – Symptoms and Cure :-)
What to do about the withdrawal when your favorite show goes on break, taking your most favorite dancer/singer/actor/all around hottie with it.
The symptoms:
- Hitting Twitter too many times per hour to count hoping the man has tweeted (he did!).
- Hitting Twitter too many times per hour to count hoping Shannon has tweeted (she did!).
- Hitting every message board known to be inhabited by Derek fans, begging for scraps of info.
- Hitting Mark Ballas’ twitter praying he’ll say something about a tour while his homeboy is on vacay with aforementioned gorgeous girlfriend Shannon.
- Hitting Joanna Pacitti’s twitter in hopes she says something about Mark saying something about Derek.
- Sam, Harry, Emily…ALL the twitters. (I would read these guys anyway – they’re funny.)
- Set up Google and Twitter searches for Derek Hough and DWTS Season 9 – WHO’S GOING TO BE HIS PARTNER??!?!
- Do everything in your power to bribe your friend who lives in Vegas to go to Derek and Mark’s birthday party with a CAMERA.
- Then bribe said friend to get Derek to remove an article of clothing. Any article of clothing. Even a sock would be good at this point.
- Devise a poll for Pure Derek Hough where people vote on their favorite Derek body part (coming soon, keep an eye out for it – I’m taking body part nominations. Don’t say “hair” - that’s a given).
- Write nonsensical, silly blogs about having withdrawal symptoms because Derek went on vacation.
The Cure:
There ain’t no cure, honeys – this pic will prove it.
Did you right click and save immediately?? Of course you did. Therefore, you are experiencing severe withdrawal. I’m pretty sure it’s the jeans. And the hair. And, well, everything.
How to Treat the Symptoms:
- Surf, surf, surf – report to me any finds, ye olde minions.
- Repeat after me – “the new season starts in three months, the new season starts in three months.”
- After number two, chant “Derek will get a great partner, Derek will get a great partner” and then drink an adult beverage (if you’re of age) while standing on your head. If you’re not of age, try Dr. Pepper. Watch out for fizz injuries. That crap hurts in your sinuses.
- Write me, heidi@purederekhough.com, and complain about how I have no new Derek content – completely disregard that it’s because he went on vacay with gorgeous girlfriend. I can take it. Really.
- You do know that I have all the dance videos on this site, right (‘cept Brooke – still working on that)? WATCH THEM. We have bunches of BHB vids too. Did you know when you click ON the video it takes you to the youtube channel of the videographer and you can leave them a comment telling them how wonderful they were to take video that you could watch and enjoy?? Especially the gyrating Derek ones – those are my favorites.
- Go to Vegas on Friday. It’s only money and you’re only young once. And, uh, send me your video.
If you’ve already been doing 1 through 5 above and it hasn’t helped, and you would absolutely do #6 if you had money and/or time? Join me in a beer, my friend.

AAAHHHH! Love this blog a lot! Too bad I know no one in Vegas…and too bad I hate Dr. Pepper. But watching the videos cures me! Another thing that helps me is working on videos! Though it’s not Derek related (and this is unexpected of me), I’m almost done with a Shawn and Mark tribute even though it’s a teeny bit late! Look out for it on my youtube!
Oh, and at least he blogged today! They better plan a show in South Florida or we’ll need better treatments! lol

That would be quite the bribe. Although, I’m not sure it would be that hard. If I had his abs I’d just walk around shirtless all the time.
Too funny! i am still watching Derek and Lil Kim dances and watching the “Download” video and the “Do you love me” video. I told you I am up for going to VEGAS this weekend. If anyone will be there, let me know.

Fortunately for me, I have kid activities that must be attended today so I will be spared withdrawal symptoms for a bit! LOL Although I’m sure I will still check twitter on my phone!

yes they r all twittering and derek should be posting pictures soonhe said he would. but yes withdraw very much so. but even if he was on tv it wouldnt matter because my cable was shut off 2 days ago. so i cant watch anything oh well i have derek on tape since i taped every show of dwts he was on. plus there is youtube and of couse this site which i love its got everything all in one spot. and to see mark i found his website and it has alot of videos from when him, jules and derek were young. http://www.markballas.com its a good site to but no site bets this on on derek. love it. ok maybe i am going though withdraw of derek. i wish the next 3 month would go fast so dwts will come back and they will be back on. thanks for this site. love it.

That was fun! Your are crazy-in a fun way! I am definitely having Derek dancing across my screen withdrawals! So of course, I play difrerent performances, over, and over again! Three months is a long time to wait for a live fix from DWTS!-Wish they had a summer tour!

OMG. . . you are so hilarious Heidi! I love your blog! I am not exactly going through withdrawal. . . yet. But when I do, I’ll be sure to take your solutions into consideration, LOL!
