Nashville Examiner calls DWTS a “Gigantic Bore” without Lil’ Kim and Derek.
All I can say is – Duh.
And hooray for my town calling it (run your pointer over the pic to see what they named the picture at the bottom of this post
). Here’s an excerpt of the Examiner’s article (click through to read the whole thing):
‘Dancing’ semifinal is a gigantic bore without Lil Kim, young adults turn to other networks (videos)
When Lil Kim left “Dancing With the Stars,” she took the excitement with her. Gilles Marini got perfect 10s from the judges in Monday night’s semifinal, but his booty-shake pales in comparison to our girl Kim. Throughout the show, the music was sleepy and the choreography was unimaginative. We actually fast-forwarded through most of the show.
And we weren’t alone.
Even though the DWTS semifinals show did top last night’s ratings with 18.3 million viewers, the vast majority of the total viewing audience didn’t watch it. TV critic Hal Boedeker reports that 36.8 million viewers turned to other programs during the first hour (8-9 p.m.) and 39.8 million watched other shows during the second hour (9-10 p.m.).
And here’s what we’re talking about: The people who did watch ‘Dancing’ were not exactly in the bud of youth. Ratings research shows that most young adults were watching the “House” season finale, “Two and a Half Men,” “Rules of Engagement” or “24.”
What does that prove? Not much, to be honest. But we just wanted to stand by our girl and say that the show is a total snooze without her.
We tuned in. We turned on. And now we’re dropping out.
